Tilikum’s story is actually very depressing. He was taken from his mother at a very young age to be held in a tiny pool with two other orcas who essentially beat the crap out of him. Then he was taken to Sea World, where he was made to perform like a circus animal, and kept in an extremely tiny pool with no other orcas he could interact with. I highly recommend watching the documentary Black Fish which goes into his story in detail. Tilikum sadly passed away in 2017 due to the mistreatment he’d suffered since he was a baby.
@jvliakay5 ай бұрын
He died from a lung infection, probably due to his inability to be active in his tiny pool. You’re right though, his story, along with every other captive orca, is very, very depressing. I will never believe the trainers who work with these animals when say they do it because they love them. If they loved them, they’d be advocating for their release from these prisons.
@midnightemmy37785 ай бұрын
@@jvliakay I agree with you, but I don't believe that at the time the trainers knew the actual impact that captivity and performing tricks actually had on orcas. They were misled by Sea World who was mainly responsible for keeping these animals in captivity.
@annamarijarvinen5 ай бұрын
completely agree! it’s so sad to see these beautiful animals in captivity. wild animals belong in the wild. they shouldn’t be forced to perform or put into small cages or tanks or pools for our “entertainment.” it is so wrong and heartbreaking and i hope people start to realize this and don’t visit places like seaworld or zoos/aquariums or circuses with animals.

That baby Orca actually probably is struggling to breathe. Marine critters already experience a lot of extra weight on their organs from the additional gravity they’re not used to feeling, then you add the additional weight of a whole human and…it’s essentially like having a large dog stand on top of your organs. UNCOMFY. Also, if you want actual accurate info on Tillikum and his trainers and the tragedies that occurred due to the mistreatment of the animals at Sea World check out the documentary “Blackfish.” If you couldn’t tell this is a little passion of mine lol

Hey Cody, I wanted to let you know last night I was out at the bar and the DJ started playing “Not going Home” and I got very excited and proud. And it wasn’t even “KZbin night” or anything special like that, because I know a lot of bars have special nights where they’ll play specific artists and genres. The music the whole night was just a medley of a bunch of songs over the years so it wasn’t any particular kind of music. They legit just randomly started playing it out of nowhere. I was and still am extremely delighted to have been there for that. Who would have thought a funny KZbinr I watch is making it big in the music scene. ❤

I remembered being at a game when I was a kid and a drunk spilled beer on me while trying to "climb" to his seat from rather than going in from his own aisle. The lady beside my dad and I who we didn't know but had been friendly with us during the game punched him and chewed him out for it.

The kick isn't the worst part to me- she gave him a little tap (still unwarranted, unhinged and illegal of course). The stupid part is she just kept her leg there and didn't let him get by, and when he took a course of action that makes perfect sense (and he was VERY careful and aware going over her leg), she got even more mad. The whole blocking his path and refusing to budge and then getting upset over it is disturbing behavior as well as the kick.

You acctually can drown a orca since they go up to the surface for air via their blowhole. They’re mammals and dosen’t have gills to be able to breath under water like fish. So you weren’t dumb at all.

It pisses me off so much when these kids do dumb shit then immediately go to the kid card. “We are kids” or “you are going to beat up a child?!” And they know what they are doing by yelling it to try and stir up some attention to make the adult look crazy. When I was a kid (not long ago lol I’m in my early 30s) if an adult was yelling at us, other adults would jump in to yell at us some more, it seems like it’s the opposite now, the adults jump in to defend a bunch of punk kids…
@newp0rt5 ай бұрын
it has always been this way.. i mean im 27. iphones and camera phones were getting big when i was younger. troll videos, vine, etc were getting big. i remember being a menace at malls and parks like this kid and when an adult would try to get upset i would just flip it on them and it always worked. you saying "more adults would jump in" is just false. acting like people just unanimously go against kids lmao. i think maybe people just hated you specifically or something because idk any adult from an outside perspective that would just gang up on a kid.
@newp0rt5 ай бұрын
this is such a typical, kids have it so differently now, as if our generation didnt have the biggest boom of youtube pranksters, vine stars, etc that KICKED OFF THIS WHOLE THING. you are deluSIONAL. maybe if you said you were 40 or 50 then sure. but idk any adult in the past 30 years that would see it as ok to just gang up on random kids in public being rude.

I believe the story for the groundhog one is that the owner set-up cameras because he had noticed that someone was messing with his crops. After discovering it was a groundhog, he purposely left food out for him in a designated area. Soon after, the groundhog has a family and the owner leaves food for them as well. It's super wholesome and footage is swag asf

I said "Excuse me" to her several times because I couldn't get through and she ignored me. I just stepped over everything and she gave me dagger eyes when my foot grazed her knee, then muttered something under her breath.

My childhood dog was also a main character like that chicken lol. He ran across the entire length of our new concrete sidewalk from the house to the shed with the workers and my parents shouting at him to stop, just for him to hop off at the last moment. He's been gone for a decade now, and we still laugh about it. My mom got an ornament afterwards, since he died on Christmas Eve. It says he left pawprints on our hearts, to which i immediately added "and on our sidewalk"

I mean, they were given the name "killer whale" for a good reason. It's sad the trainers were killed, but I have more sympathy for the Orca. He wasn't even captured for research or to be nursed back to health; it was mainly for human entertainment. He was sick and tired of it! Plus, after he killed the girl, his punishment was to be kept in solitary confinement for a year. So sick...
