In terms of tourism, Bangalore falls way far behind Kolkata,also Bangalore is far expensive than Kolkata, the only thing Bangalore is ahead of Kolkata,is whenever you will enter Bangalore, you will get pleasant feelings,be it the greenery,cool climate or the cleanliness where as Kolkata is more or less like Delhi,very crowded, hustle bustle,swarm of street food stall all over the market place,and very hot climate and whenever you enter Kolkata you won't get the pleasant vibes unlike Bangalore

Calcutta is slept upon by many people. Specially Bangalis. I was born and brought up in Bombay, have lived in Bangalore, Bhubaneswar And now remotely working from Kolkata. Kolkata is at par with the any Metropolitan in India. Also, it has its unique identity due to its long history which many of the newer metros lack. I will Choose Kolkata anyday over Bangalore. But Mumbai over Kolkata because Mumbai is the only city in India that can compete at international standards.
