LOCATION: Kolympithra is located in the B part of the island and is about 15 km from Chora.
ACCESS: Via Tripotamos Avenue you head towards Komi and after passing the village, on the outside, turn right at the end of the main road and cross the small bridge, from where the road that ends in Kolympithra begins.
MORPHOLOGY: In the bay of Kolympithra there are two beaches. Mikri Ammos is the most closed part of the sea basin, sandy, with deep water. The Great Sand, much longer and more open, is also sandy, with deep water and undertows.

WEATHER: Mikri Ammos is generally windless. Megali Ammos is exposed to N winds, often with large waves.
Tips
If you notice the islet opposite (Drakonissi) you will see that it looks like a reclining dragon.
