I really loved the stylistic choices in this cartoon. Komi's design is particularly great. She's tall, lean, and has a bit of an intimidating look, probably to represent how other people see her. The moments when they show her vulnerability through her big eyes are amazing. The show is telling us that she's simply a person like everyone else.

I started watching Komi, and I’m gonna try watching your reactions to the show while your channel is still here. Let’s hope it won’t go away, of course. This first ep was so fun, sad, but most importantly: lovely. What a great way to start the show. There’s many new anime investing on the 1st ep and I’m loving it, because normally it takes me 3-4 eps to get me hooked, but Komi got me right away on the 1st ep. I just love everything about it! Specially because since it’s a high school anime, it could be very predictable/repetitive, but all the unique characters, the fact that Komi tells a lot by saying nothing and still being cute gorgeous, is a true masterpiece of a first ep. And of course, the cliffhanger to be the icing of the cake. Great show

I also thought she was crying in the chalk scene, cutest hiccups tho xD As for Tadano, I was like “He doesn’t want to be noticed, but there’s a leaf on his head. Great start for a 1st day” And I really thought that during the chalk talk Komi would point it out to him, but after watching the opening close to the end of the ep, I realized it was a feature of his hair xD (a very unique mark if you ask me. Normally we would see some freckles on the cheeks, or scars on the forehead, but a “leaf” on the head, that’s new to me hahaha)

Finally, got around to watching it, i read the start of the manga, but not much, Komi is very cute, and there's a good reason for there being a bunch of unique character designs, if I recall correctly there's gonna be a bunch of very intense people, I feel like it's gonna be a pretty nice journey, thanks for the reaction.

@@OtakuMai As Lu Bu said, Netflix does a horrible job. You miss most of the chalkboard conversation because Netflix is to lazy to translate it. The Fan dub gives it to you. Just try re watching episode 1 on your own to see what we mean, or at least the chalkboard scene from episode 1. Cheers.

This series reads a lot of reading and you'll not be able to understand any of it cause it's in Japanese and Netflix is not going to translate all that. Better go with fan subs cause the quality of fan subs over Netflix subs is like day and night! Better go with fan sub if you want to understand this show
