A modern sequel would be rad. They could easily do it with a lot more Monsters, mechanics, stages and gimmicks. It doesn't need all 12,000 cards or top tier graphics but a fun long strategy RPG in the Capsule Monsters style could sell like gangbusters. I would kill for this dream game.

Any Yu-Gi-Oh Game that played differently from the OCG/TCG would sell like gangbusters with more Polishing and mechanics Konami gave up on these games way too early they could've been a stable in the Yu-Gi-Oh franchise like how Duel Links's dueling format or rush duels

@@Path_To_Paradise_YT I was hopeful that when MasterDuel came out, it would retire the standard Yugioh video games. There's no point for Tag Force, World Carnival, Legacy of the Duelist, etc, when you have a full official online card simulator with 99% if the cards. This would leave the gate open for Forbidden Memories, Wheelie Breakers, Duelist of the Roses, Capsule Monsters, etc.

I want to give special praise for the menus. They have this alluring nature, which I can't quiet explain. It's crazy how much depth Capsule Monsters end up having. I remember as my first tactics game as a kid. This feels like the spiritual successor to Duelists of the Roses, seeing as that game made the "grid-based" take on Yugioh popular (or perhaps DotR was the spiritual successor to the Capsule Monsters game from the manga). Also, they reused assets from DotR in this one, which was a great decision, seeing as those assets looked fantastic, and it would have been a huge waste of time and money to remake hundreds of assets that nobody cares that much about again.

@buddyzilla45574 ай бұрын
Tristin is a bit harder to explain but it may have something to do with an important flashback in the anime or his manga characterization. When Joey is facing Rex Raptor, he pushes Tristin away for trying to help him out. Tristin gets pissed and storms off. Joey eventually flashes back to an unexplaiend moment when Joey is in an abandoned warehouse of an industrial park, standing up agaisnt a pack of thugs targeting an unidentified kid. Tristin shows up just in time for the two to fend off the jerks while getting a few bruises themselves. Afterward we see the two atop the building, looking over the the condemned factory district which has a rustic beauty in the lighting. Tristin demands to know why Joey didnt tell him about the situation..which still makes little sense since we know nothing ourselfs on how what went down did or how Tristin knew..we have no idea why anyone was here in the first place, who this kid was, what he meant to Joey, where he went after the fight started, how Tristin knew to go there to make it just in time ect., but thw point is that Japey again pushes Tristin away for babying him only to realize iut of the flashback that he has been an arragont jerk to the guy who always has his back when he needs it..Tristin and Joey were also from the wrong side of the tracks neighborhood. This was esepcially relavant in the manga. Joey lived in a slummy apartment. We dont know a whole lot about Tristin's homelife despute his sister being a working mom already but he went to the same crummy primary school as Joey. Tea and Yugi went to the nice one but Joey and Tristin were allowed to be tranfered over to start secondary school in the nice district. They were part of a cutthroat gang in primary shcool but gave it up when they got a chance at a better education and futute. The old gang had headwuarters in the crumiest part of the town and woumf confict thwir fights/buisness in the abandoned warehouses surrounding. They tried several attempts to get Joey and Tristin bakc including threatening Yugi/Tea's lives. The final and least far fetched reasoning (but still a bit of a stretch) has to do with his theming in both anime and manga. Tristin isnt mucj of a duelist but he is a huge sharp shooting enthusiast. In the manga, his D&D parody character is a magical gunsman. In Death T he takes out two of the words best gun based assasins using a little cunning and his skill at quickdraws. They are in a laser tag themed atteaction where Kaiba hired the three best assasins in the world with a gun. The guns the assasins have are laser guns but working ones. The ones the kids have dont register. No one can take their targets off until the game is doen amd all targets release a lethal voltage when triggered. Again, none of the heros guns work. Joey gets lucky rushing off and knocking one mercenary out by surprise throuhh a flying kick off an obsticle. The rnage has the typical indistrial/scifi theming most do. Tristin points out how lucky hut close to death Joey was. He has his nephew ( a baby in a strap on carrier) hold the one assasins gun with the carrier reversed. This allows the baby to stay hidden agaisnt Tirstins back. He goes out and calls both remianing killers to come for a surrender with both hands high up. When they show themseves, Tristin gives the siggnal for the baby to toss the gun up to hos waiting hand. He then takes out both gunman with a shot each begorr thet can react and shoot him first. In the anime, this is a little less priminent with his character but he does wind up being the cyber commander in the Bakura duel. Its important to note he tends to get themed not only around artillery but high tech/scfi artillery when appliacble. Hes usually a cyborg gunman or fighting in a futurristic, indistrtial warzone as oppsed to other similarly themed characters like Bandit Kieth or Alister (the one using artilery built into robots and the other using more modern artillery vehicle-like monsters based on Kiabacorp millitant weapons.)

I had this game as a kid but never finished it until a couple of years ago, it's not perfect but definitely a really solid game. The biggest surprise in the game for me was Shadi being the second last opponent and that there wasn't an original character to pop up at the end for a final duel. It kinda caught me off guard that the King Colosseum at the end is almost all rematches. I didn't know fusion or evolution were part of the game until very close to the end when the game let me evolve Root Water into High Tide Gyojin. I did find it a bit weird that the game gave a spotlight moment and unique camera cut for a some of the boss monsters being summoned but not all of them. I only remember them doing it for Rex's Two Headed King Rex, Keith's Barrel Dragon and Kaiba's Blue Eyes White Dragon the first time you duel him. Although a lot of characters maybe didn't have their boss monsters so that would explain it. I also felt really dumb for not realising that I could change the board in the second duel with Pegasus until near the end of it.

@MLPIceberg4 ай бұрын
Yeah (in the anime), Duke played Gradius (I think that was it) against Joey and used Limiter Removal on it to murder Joey's Goblin Attack Force that had no defense points. How would that make him lose Life Points? Fairy Meteor Crush. It's Piercing Damage basically instead of dealing no damage for destroying a monster in defense mode, you act like that monster's defense is its attack and thus calculate the damage between your attacking monster and the defense of the one you destroy, dealing that number as damage to your opponent's Life Points, for those that don't know. At least I hope I'm remembering right. As for Mokuba? Yes. That little gremlin needs the Electric Chair. Didn't like him in what we call "Season Zero" and I still didn't like in the official anime we got in the West. Pegasus was a tragic hero trying to save us all from Mokuba's reign of terror.

In the German Version of the game the characters had there voices from the German of the Anime. That was great.

My favorite of the random Yu-Gi-Oh games. The boards were awesome and it scratched that chess feel that Duelist of Roses created but few games besides Regicide could scratch. For me, at least. I liked planning out my favorite movement and attack patterns, the crazier the better. Oh and I think the, "Light beats Dark," is because, generally, you're playing Yugi/Yami so its that disadvantage against the rival thing (Kaiba is Light with his Blue Eyes) so they would never make those neutral element. As for Earth and Lightning I think it has more to do with what those creatures usually represent which is how they got roped in when they wanted to pick 8 types of power. Dark and Lightning are both chaotic or rebellious, while Light and Earth are more traditional or reserved. At least that's my thoughts on it.

1:10 is that from the actual anime? it feels very much like a snippet from an abridged version of it.
