I miss the days when Yugioh was a series about ancient shadow games being revived through card games. You can tell the themes of the series took a huge shift when Takahashi left midway through 5Ds.

Batman used to drop quips every now and then in the older comics and im not referring to the silver age. Even during the 70s and 80s Batman comics he’d make quips before his comics got a lot darker

What if you posed that final thought in reverse? What if instead of trying to develop this light and silly mood the start of the show had, they went more serious and dark from the start? If that angle had been given more room to develop maybe it could have become a more gripping and epic tail like the original yugioh.

Eggman is a great villain to me because of his unpredictability. He can be silly all he wants cause we the audience see how much of a threat he is through his actions to back up his threats. And even though he can be pure evil, their are moments where he’s humanized like with Shadow, Sage and Gerald Robotnik

The biggest problem with Adam is that I do not care if he does murder all of the demons. The show has not given a single reason to care about the denizens of Hell and if anything it would be super easy to get people to support the mass genocide if the angels weren't insanely insufferable. If you made Adam just slightly less insufferable and more sympathetic, people would probably root for him. As it is, Adam is just equally evil and terrible and violent as the people of Hell
