The fun thing I've been labbing with SwoSou is playing a SHS package which lets you go denglong and from there either put up chaofeng and an omni, or extend with baxia. The SHS can literally do anything you want in SwoSou depending on the other cards in your hand while also playing tons of non-engine

@@goblinslayer1115 to be fair, it's a much better going 2nd deck as the toolbox really comes online if your opponent has set up and you remove their negation. However, it is still crazy underpowered in modern yugioh and not very good. It comes from a time when maintaining balance was considered slightly important instead of giving in to rampant power creep, so people feel nostalgic and eager to play a deck that isn't just "your opponent can't play yugioh.dek"

Plants are super good, it’s just certain hand traps like droll really hurt the deck and it has no in-archetype way to deal with traps besides therions and bad plant monsters like Rosewhip and spider orchid, which means evenly matched will always resolve. But when it matches up versus monster based combo decks, it really starts showing it’s worth in gold

@@jamesflanagan6261 Natura stops evenly if you get out naturia camelia then naturia vein or bamboo depending on which you prefer to play around. All you need is to get naturia camelia out with a normal summon or aromage link eff to get vein in grave then use eff of Rikka queen Strenna to get it to hand and special summon with snowdrop or if you have lonefire to special with snowdrop you can ignore camelias pitch eff and summon vein with lonefire from deck. To use bamboo you would need aromage jasmine if you need to start combo with a normal summon but its less consistent to pull off so I advise against using bamboo.

So for denglong/swordsoul gives access to chaofeng under 5 for playing around nib, easier lines to yazi, and nine pillars being searchable I think just putting him in the extra plus the main deck nine pillars isn't anything to ignore, I don't think much more is needed.

Swordsoul is definitely tier 2 going by MBT's definition of tiers. It's basically the synchro version of Branded. Swordsoul has enough flex to play a single Denglong and a single Nine Pillars to sometimes get a Judgment in a 41 card deck. It's just extra interaction and you can climb in to Yazi which you sometimes do already.

The difference is that Branded has way scarier boards after a resolved Fusion. Swordsoul's boards are not as comprehensive.

@@orga7777 A resolved Mo Ye or Taia is comparable to a Branded Fusion resolving. Blackout is Branded in Red (if summoning Chimera), Chengying is Mirrorjade, Chixiao and Baronne are one half of Lindwurm, Vishuda is the second half of Lindwurm, Agerine and Chengying are two Mirrorjades, and Baxia is a slower Chimera. They don't do the literal same things but the results are similar. Swordsoul loses to D Barrier but it also doesn't lose to Ash. The things Branded has that Swordsoul lacks are a grind game and an ability to make a bunch of guys. If Swordsoul's main board doesn't stick it doesn't have Mirrorjade to wipe the board clean and restart. Though theoretically it could make Mirrorjade your best bet is to make Agerine. The second weakness is that at most you're making Shaman, Monk, Chixiao/Baronne, and Chengying. The deck doesn't have a line of assholes to fill the board with. Nine Pillars is Judgmemt but there's no consistent way to get it in your hand. If Apple Dragon was a Wyrm things would be very different.

The lines are so much stronger and powerful that it isn't even comparable. That is why Branded gets more success and tops than Swordsoul does.

the only good thing about denglong in swoswo is that it can turn your lvl 4 non tuner into a tuner if you have some setup. for example you have monk and shthana on field with ashuna in gy and ns mo ye but it gets impermed, then you could ashuna into adhara to turn shthana and adhara into denglong, send taia and then make baxia (or chixiao) with mo ye and denglong. but is that play even worth giving up an extra deck slot? not too sure

The extra I used was: Savage Starlight RDA Hot RDA Abyss Striker, Pisty Romulus, Spheres, Dharc, I:P, Dilligerous, Quadborrel Knightmare Unicorn, Triple Burst Accesscode Borrelend The way I beat DPE, Plasma, Dark Angel was summoning Magnamut on opponent's turn searching Druiswurm in EP. Banish DPE to summon Druiswurm in DP. He was forced to summon Malicious in standby. Made Dharc with Angel and Druiswurm with Druiswurm popping Plasma. Dharc summon Increase from GY so my opponent can't stop me from winning. Then it was pretty much spam out extenders make an I:P or Romulus to make Accesscode and win. There is no real definitive Accesscode line, it's just get 4 bodies, make a link monster and make Accesscode.

I heard somewhere Branded, and Floo can never be above Tier 2. Branded because it's so easy to shot down once it reaches a noticeable representation in the meta. Floo because they're anti-meta, so they rely on countering what other strategies do, and can't rise on their own.

Tbh I'd still put Branded and Labrynth as tier 1, being the decks to be able to beat in order to convert to tops, maybe scoot Dragon link and GP-Punk to tier 2(PEP is a house), but otherwise not a bad list.

He placed broken legs super heavy in tier 2 but dragon link in tier 3. Dragon links biggest downside is it's consistency. The deck has some starters which are still banned(eclipse wyvern) and striker being 1 still hurts, though if the deck pops off, it can do insane things. I've beaten several full samurai 6 negate board without even drawing a going 2nd card. The deck has interruptions from hand(handtraps, bystials) backrow (beast, regained and even etude) and in the gy (druis). Also, most decks can't even out borrelend and or chaos angel.

need a new imcamptation ritual spell. special summons ritual monster from deck and you can banish it as a quick effect to ritual summon from hand on opponents turn, but have to use imcamptation monsters as ritual fodder. i think it is fair since the imcamptation lock you out of extra deck.

I dont hate Kashtira. I hated extra deck ripping and zone locking. A macro plus a banish honestly is fine in 2023. Its good but very beatable even by roguedecks.

Expulsion actually kind of hobbled branded. I'd argue it's less intensive to get gimmick puppet out with the right 2 or 3 card combo which has a lot of variations. It's just actually negative no, however, you can still build a formidable board around sanctifier and if you are baiting grave disruption in the draw phase that lest otbe cards branded relies on the gy for resolve much more often, things like branded in red and branded banishment to name a few. Basically branded is more fluid now and can antcually engage in the grind game it was built to while still having that spash of floodgate utility

I'm not too fond with the meta and this helps a lot and yeah, Denglong won't do anything. I expected True Draco Master Peace to be unbanned too but I don't see it happening. Although, the powercreep of that card is tremendous.

Tear is pretty nutty if your opponent doesn't play macro effects AND bystials, but if people don't play kash, they'll play bystials, so it doesn't work.
