The name for south Indian classical music is carnatic music.. And purandara dasa, a kannadiga is called the father of carnatic music.. But Irony is it is least explored in karnataka.. Kannada people have a very bad taste in art and are unaware of their rich cultural and artistic heritage

This is unfortunately 100% true. While watching many Kannada movies in cinema theatres I have seen many people going out of the cinema hall for cigarette, etc whenever a song sequence appeared irrespective of how melodious... Even for Dr. Rajkumar classic songs I have seen half the theatre going out ... This is our Kannadigas' taste in music. .

Sir only some group of people patronised him but for sure he cannot be compared with all great musicians we had along with combination of Chi Udayashankar / R N Jayagopal / Vijayanarasimha listening to Chi Udayashankar lyric with Rajan Nagendra music and the one and only Dr Raj is a treat for all of us isn't it We were in such a beautiful combination and can u imagine the so called nadabrahma he cannot even come nearear to them
