I may not have made it clear that I've always been a Grace Slick supporter, though I wish Signe had stuck with the band for another record or two, but then we may not have gotten White Rabbit, Somebody To Love, Volunteers, Milk Train and so many others. I've just never subscribed to the notion that an aged person needs no filter and because of their age and experience anything goes.

I'm still grateful for her Starship songs like Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now, even if they weren't her cup of tea. She gave a great performance doing them and they were exactly the kind of music we wanted as kids in the '80s.

I was 19 years old in 1966 when I and two other friends of mine ( Bill Ande, lead guitar, Gibson and vocals and Jim Toliver, Bass guitar, Fender and vocals, and me Bill Lara, double bass 26 inch Rogers drums, and vocals landed in San Francisco as Rock n' Roll musicians from Miami Florida in a hard blues Rock n' Roll band called " Sensorytask" in 1966 at a new Rock venue called the ARK in Sausalito. I fell in love with Grace Slick right then and there and haven't stopped loving that "dream woman" since ! Today I'm 73 years old, retired from the world at large and still deeply in love with Grace Slick ....... and always will be !!! I LOVE YOU GRACE and will take that love for you to my grave with me when that moment of transition comes to me. Peace and Love to you Grace and 'Thank You' for all your music and lyrics, Se'Lah ! P.S. I Remember Martha and 2400 Fulton and Willard Streets. Much Love Grace !!!

As a former home care/health aide of almost two years, Grace is the client I would literally do anything for. I had clients I fell so madly in love with based on their personality and their stories that I would literally take odd hours out of my availability to care for. She seems like such a down to Earth person with such rich stories to tell, an 8-hour shift would literally fly by, it's happened to me before! So happy to see how she ended up!

Aging is a trip and to really understand what I'm talking about you have to be there yourself. For Instance: I saw this 10 yrs ago when I was 41 and all I thought was wow, Grace is an old lady now! I appreciated her wit and intellect but all I saw at 41 was a much older looking Grace. Now 10 yrs later at 51 I'm looking at this 70 yr old going wow, look at how clear, young, and tight looking her face is, and thinking: If she was slender here with a wig on she cough pass for a 45 yr old cuz she looks great!

I just love, love, love her. In every use of that word. She defies categorization and is the one 60s icon that doesn't do nostalgia at all. She lives in the present. Absolutely timeless. Tries her best to tell her truth and admits her and her generation's successes as well as faults. Takes a bunch of mean shots and outright lies and shrugs it all off. And still after all is said and done, has that glint of fire in her eyes. If I get to 70 and have an ounce of that I'll be good.

Some of us thought it was a Govt conspiracy to get rid of the 'people' responsible for poisoning the youth of Americas mind through music. Me and a few friends snuck into Jefferson Starships hotel room after they played at the Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, Md. in 1985. We were escorted out by Graces bodyguard. On the elevator, I remember her bodyguard, a very large woman, saying to us “kick ass show, wasn’t it?”. I will always remember the look on their faces as 3 teenagers were trying to crash their hotel room! If I ever had the opportunity to buy Grace a coffee, and sit with her for a few minutes, I would be honored! I’m out in California a few times each year visiting my son and my grandkids. So, it could happen!

In the 70s my nickname used to be "Grace" fashioned after Ms. Slick of course (1971/72). To this day I never found out who started calling me by this name, but I felt very honored, so thank you!
