@@cioccolateriaveneziana ??? When did the op say that a comedian shouldn't gauge their audience? The op's comment was in regard to the host saying that they found it "troubling" because they (the host) could somehow "sense" (mind read) that the audience were racist, simply because the audience laughed at racist jokes. Sorry, but that isn't comparable to the way a comedian gauges an audience. Everyone in the audience of "The Closer" laughed at Dave Chappelle's critique of transgenderism, so...by the hosts logic, that means the audience all came to watch him because they are transphobic? Laughing at something doesn't equate to being able to gauge the audience's personality nor ideological possession...just their mood. ;)

Why are we all pretending we don't find offensive jokes funny. I laugh at racist jokes if they make me laugh and if we really get down to it, I'm not laughing because I'm racist, I'm laughing because jokes about stereotypes can be funny because stereotypes are based on reality and all good comedy is based on reality. Some of the best comics around at the moment who will not be intimidated by the cancel tyrants are Anthony Cumia and Owen Benjamin and their no holds barred comedy allows them to create some of the best humour around today.

The BBC and Channel4 tried to do exactly the same with Jordan Peterson. As a journalist and broadcaster by all means ask challenging questions but then they presume to know everything, and conclude how other people might view or react to the opinions being expressed. They shouldn't bring their personal subjective feelings into an interview,it is their job to be OBJECTIVE.This is when they need to be called out as Konstantin did here and Peterson did in his interviews. It is poor, lazy journalism at best and incompetence at worst.

So in order to save face, he trotted out the same sort of line of thought they used against Al Murray/Pub Landlord, that although he understood the irony, the rest of the audience is just too thick and therefore a bunch of bigots. It’s a shitty middle-class leftie thing to do, something that Orwell documented, the absolute disdain the middle classes have for the working class even when they profess to care. Here we had a leftie, middle-class journalist who cannot square his enjoyment of Sadowitz with the outrage he was supposed to be feeling, and it brought out his class bigotry.

That was 100% shameless gaslighting by the presenter. Everybody should rejected the presenter's perspective- just like Konstantin did. HOW can he assume and make assumptions on an entire room of people; how can he know each and every person's motives as to why they came to the show that night? How can he declare them all closeted racists? And most importantly, did he not laugh at any of these racist jokes? How do we know? We're just supposed to shut up and take his word for it? It's just agenda's. They take something that is "potentially offensive", take it out context 99% of the time, and then force the person they're asking, or ATTEMPT, to force them to agree that it's offensive regardless of reasoning, or context. It's a disgusting way of having a conversation because it's literally just an attempt at an echochamber and ANYTHING else is not even considered.
