I'm sticking with Kontakt 6 as long as it works on Windows 10 which I'm pretty sure it does and I think there are still plenty of Kontakt libraries out there are compatible with my build. I have only been using Kontakt full version since 2020. For noncommercial music the old Kontakt Factory library is fine. Maybe 2025 might be a good time for me to upgrade as I will have had my current build for 5 years and it also gives Native instruments a chance to iron out any problems it currently has as I have at least a couple of libraries that are not compatible with my version.

not bad logic at all! often the issue with library compatibility is not with Kontakt, but the library creator.

No it’s the same but I did hear you can possibly load 3rd party plugins in the main browser. I’ll take a look tonight!

One issue with your overview is that Choir Omni doesn't come with Kontakt 7, it is sold separately. Kinda misleading, don't you think?

what do you mean by "vst developers' at 2:32 ? Kontakt uses libraries not vst instruments. as Kontakt is vst sampler instrument itself.

Yes but it’s up to people like Output, Orchestral Tools, etc to develop their libraries to be HiDPI compatible. You’re focusing on the wrong part of the video 😂😂

It’s a type of reverb based on impulse responses! I haven’t been able to try the new factory libraries yet but I did notice the convolution area while you were going over that reverb part! Lmk what you think once you try it tho bud!

How do you load 3rd party plugins that require the full version of Kontakt?

You can bring up the quick load menu and then it shows at the bottom (you can see some of mine in the video).

What’s considered a 3rd party plugin? I see he has some Soundiron plugins in the regular screen which isn’t Kontakt of course. I guess I’m just confused

The new update is great. Unfortunately the quickload list doesn't transfer to the updated version.

It’s been out. Too bad you can’t sort libraries in the browser and that there isn’t just a zoom feature for all the existing and third party loDPI interfaces which may never be updated. That Convolution is your missing reverb.

One small tip, your terminology is wrong, Kontakt is a plugin (VST as one target) but the Kontakt instruments you refer to as VSTs are not per-se, they are Kontakt instruments.

I appreciate the feedback, however, I assume very few care whether I call it a vst or a plug-in vs showing whether or not it is worth their time to look at, wouldn’t you agree?
