I have some mid and high rise. High rise, is just uncomfortable as all hell. And feels like its going to ruin your thumb if you play alot. Mid rise is just right. It takes some getting used to as you're moving your thumb differently than normal. And your body isnt used to it. But it does make a signifigant difference on accuracy. And the wideness and grip of it, is great. I do recommend the mid rise. I buy the galaxies and only use the mid rise on the right stick. Cause for grip and feel. Its the most popular they make, and for good reason. They really do enhance your game in fps games with some practice. They also usually only come in purple and white...bleh. But they have some limited edition black ones right now. I ordered 2. Cause Iv been using them for quite some time. And havent worn any out yet. Pro tip. If they're getting slippery. Get yourself some dawn and a gentle pipe cleaner. And clean all the oil and finger gunk off of them. And they'll feel even gripper and better than if they were new. Cheers!

So first you got me using my elite 2 controller high stick, 👍 though the controller it's self is the most fucking unreliable pos ever, I swear bestbuy is running out because the last 3 have all had stick drift within the 30 day return policy and I keep looking for that unique unicorn that lasts a minute, ANYWAYS I need some advice. I want to buy some kontrolfreeks. I want the rings but I would also like a stick. I was thinking high rise on my normal elite stick with the ring so the rings don't slide up or the high elite stick with more rings underneath so again they don't rise. Which is the better option as I have never seen either in person so I don't know how many rings I would need for a high elite stick and would a high stick with a low rise freek give me the best option? Not to high but nice and wide? I notice a lot of the high rise freaks look like shit or have shit designs. I'd like a elite high stick with that black low rise freak you said was comfy but will 2 or 3 disks actually fit well under the elite tall stick without either still sliding up or popping my stick off the controller. Fml

Low rises exist for elite xbox controller users wanting just an little extra extension and wider grip on the one extended joystick in the set the control comes with.

Low rise feels the best for me, the extra grip and wider cap helps me aim in close range. Because it’s not as tall you get less leverage which keeps your stick tension higher. So I’m my opinion low rise is the best all round

They really should make some more LowRise sets so that we have more variety to choose from instead of only having a choice out of Alpha and Omni. Personally I want to see a LowRise version of the FPSFreek Inferno thumbstick get made that is for PS4/5 and XBox One/Series X (the Turbo set they released a few years ago is the closest one to it, but was only for Switch JoyCons).

Agreed.. I went a bit nuts on these dumb sticks, and now have 3 sets.. why? bored out of my mind and too much time I guess? I have galaxy, fps something something and the MW ADS ones.. and the MW ones are my favorite.. why? The rubber is really sticky and the domed design works really nice for keeping your thumb in it's place. Mid rise galaxy are also good, especially for the fatty as fuck PS5 controller.

For me, I've got clam hands. So if the convex tipped sticks are made of not-so-grippy material, they become unusable for me. Despite being easier on the fingers when playing for long hours. For example, PlayStation 1 and 2 controllers. I always had difficulty using them as soon as my hands started sweating 😂.

I have the convex and hybrid set on my ps5 controller and love them. I play destiny mostly so my left stick is forward like 90% of the time. The convex left stick really helps my thumb pad not hurt from pressing sprint a ton when playing for awhile.

I don't like the extra effort to click buttons when using high-rise sticks. Not to mention my hands get more fatigued after long play sessions compared to the others. Mid and low rise are the best way to go for me personally.

I have VERY bad nerve damage in my left hand (From a broken neck) and my left thumb does not work very well, the only way i can still play is by using the Kontrol Freaks High rise and it allows me to use more of my hand instead of just my thumb, it is weird to explain but i LOVE them. The one i am using is the green MW-2 Performance thumb sticks and they saved what little gaming i am able to do for a while.

I love the „FPS ultra” high-rise concave on my aiming stick, feels like a cursor (or something just feels right about them). Left stick any lows or mids will do (prefer convex). Only downside is the KF material can make the fingers feel sweaty a bit.

The ps4 control has a hybrid tumstick design and that's one of the cons of the controller. It gets slippery. The tire tread on the Xbox is far better with it's grip but honestly the Nintendo switch pro controller feels the best for me because it's flat but has a ton of grip.

if you're using xbox series x|s controller high rise will be good for you because series x|s controller is smaller than the old gen xbox one controller. it sort of balances it out and makes your thumbs fit nicely in place on the sticks

Most of the best controller FPS players already have controllers with higher sticks, so they don't need kontrol freeks. At least in Warzone all the top players I follow have high(er) sticks on the right. i.e JoeWo, Exzachtt and Mutex

I use low-rise on my left stick so it doesn't wear out and it gives better grip, only downside is that you want minimal height for responsiveness. I like the high-rise vortex on the right stick, so does joewo, but it might be a taller person thing. I feel like concave gives you a more inconsistent grip personally... I used to use the galaxy, but fell in love with vortex

If the height is too tall, I think that actually limits your accuracy because how much control you lose due to the added high which makes you reach up to the stick.
