Kookaburra facts for my fellow bird fans: the two that are squabbling over the food are almost certainly either a mated pair or part of the Kookaburra nuclear family group, which includes up to six helper birds (which are the pair's young from previous nesting seasons). Kookaburras are monogamous and mate for life. We can infer this because Kookaburras are highly aggressive and territorial to other Kookaburras, and won't let birds from other family units near. In fact, their long "laughing" call is a warning to others to stay out of their territory, which the shorter calls we hear in this video are reserved for their family members. There's no need to break up two of them squabbling over food, because it's a very natural behavior that help "tenderize" their prey. When they play tug of war, it's actually to help break the food into smaller pieces, since these birds swallow it whole. I adore this channel, by the way, and don't really have anyone to nerd out about birds with, so thank you for filming and making a nice little nest for bird lovers!
