I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH... I was a kid when it was out but my Dad played it when he’d be in the kitchen preparing dinner. You could hear all it all through the whole house. I remember the ”euphoric feeling I had & still get anytime I hear it.” The ABSOLUTE BEST is the version they did with The Emotions.🥰

I love the trombone Solo. One who thinks that detracts from the overall completion of the song either doesn't appreciate the complexity of a trombone, getting it to sound civilized, tactical, proficient and smooth, also the original extended version was written with a comparable solo in it, or just doesn't appreciate good music.

The people who didn’t like the trombone might understand it better if they knew Kool and the Gang were once called the Jazzizcs. Look it up and listen to the older versions of well know songs. Kool went mainstream, the roots are jazz
@jazz36852 жыл бұрын
Basically a lot of people whom never study music doesn’t know how to listen to music such as individual horn parts synchronization and the variations of low or high notes. If anyone l reading what I just wrote and have to get an interpretation from a dictionary on the meaning then they have no clue on how to listen. When you ask a person how they like this version and they respond “ I like the beat” then they are clueless
@robertmarsh22912 жыл бұрын
What they all fail to realize is, prior to this generation, if you didn't have a 'bone, a trumpet, and sax, YOU DIDNT HAVE A REAL BAND!

You can go too hard? You only get to do it once for those people on the averageone would want them to have the most unique experience that they will ever have in a lifetime if possible what I'm trying to say is run with it. A my opinion it was pretty much a sleeper until he started playing the keyboard it was basically advanced college band music by comparison it's calling showing what you know and letting them know by putting on a heck of a show all I have to say it's all that is Rock on free thinker Rock on
@johnthenor6386 жыл бұрын
That tremolo rhodes is smooth like butter .but I like Ronald bell on the keys. Better than Hamilton .Hamilton plays that keyboard like he at some exhibition show ..this song suppose to be. Smooth from beginning to end
