That looks like a cool chill city to take a breather. I'd love to live there for a few months. That building looking like a negative impression of a pagoda is way cool. I would have gone there just for that. Never seen anything like it. The architecture and the build quality of the some of the hanok (including coffee shop) is interesting as well. These are some cool vids.

You're probably getting tons of suggestions, but I would recommend checking out Jangtaesan Recreational Forest south of Daejon. It is amazing. You can take a bus from Daejon up the mountain. There's hiking paths, and a Sky Tower with an elevated walkway that lets you walk among the treetops. There's places to eat and lots of BnBs along the road up the mountain if you want to stay overnight.

Another golden video (you see what i did just there, lol). Tia and Chev, you guys should check out Nami Island (a man-made island that is very close to Seoul actually, and cheap to gethere) while stil in Korea -- it was a famous background for an all-hit kdrama "Winter Sonata", as well as many other kdramas. As a matter of fact, it'd be real cool for you guys to visit some of the Kdrama/movie sites while you're still in the country, or enjoy some contemporary kbeauty salon or a kpop concert or attend an e-sports game! Not a lot of travelers on youtube actually showcase these more famous contemporary aspects of Korean culture...

@@OnePackWanderers Thank you for taking down my suggestion! Just wanted to add look into ziplining in Nami Island as well!! Also, If Nami Island isn't to your liking, I'd also recommend visiting Kpop museums back in Seoul (which are open to the public, in the fancy digital city district of the city next to all the broadcasting stations), such as the SM Town Museum -- you can glean the history of contermpoary kpop phenomenons there (and will probably get a ton of views from the kpop fans). Whichever places you end up visiting, I'll continue to watch and support! :)

Travelling vicariously through you guys. I BP Asia for six months in 2010 and now I sit and watch and I can feel how I did on days and at times all coming back to me....Tia your face when you were saying you were going into the tomb today...oh I remember that joy and then you arrive and you start walking around the grounds and it builds...when you showed the big green Tombs so close and you just had to walk that little bit to get the the doors omg I could imagine Tia was like tempted to run to just get in there and feel that excitement, almost like a kid in a candy shop because you have so much knowledge of it, and I am sure at one stage you guys like many thought covid could make this something that would never be achievable, now it's really happening how lucky to still be able to live out the dream of seeing history in person not just reading about it. Then I see you guys towards the end of the day you look and sound like me at the end of a big day where it didn't go to plan, little disappointed I didn't get to do what I wanted but happy I got to experience the day as it turned out, being like thats travel, you deal with it wonderfully focusing on the positive, tomorrow will be a new adventure. Thanks for sharing.

@@OnePackWanderers fav spots Haha few but here goes. India Golden temple Amritsar and halal mahal Jaipur unbelievable, India itself is an experience and the taj is stunning but I loved these two more as I just got a different feeling but I wouldn’t miss taj if you go it’s amazing too. Indonesia - Java Borobudur (unlike your friends who I know went there that couldn’t go up I was lucky to stay at the hotel that does the sunrise tours and back the. You could enter I know since there was damage from eruptions so not sure if it will reopen) I felt so at peace meditating at sunrise. Malaysia kota Kinabalu seeing the orang-utans and proboscis monkeys China Great Wall, terracotta warriors, stone Forrest (hope it opens for travel some time soon it’ was a challenging travel but so worth it) Vietnam mine was sapa although is so big and commercial now I don’t think it has the same feel but walking to the local village with Hmong guide was amazing, loved Dalat all the weird and quirky buildings and views and cool mountain air, hoi an people and the old town charm and of course Halong. Thailand Chiang rai white temple was not known by international revellers much then but it blew me away and staying the tree houses in the jungle of the national park. There’s others but that would be my small list haha. We traveled Thailand as a group of five and my friend and I are both organisers but I was doing the rest of the trip so she did Thailand. She made I guess what you call a pick a path book (I don’t know if that’s what you call them now) she had a main start and finish and we got two choices of which way to go for each next step in the way of location to stay and hotel options so we were organised like 3-5 days out of where and then she had the same for what we could do so we would chose on the morning at breakfast. Chiang rai was the only add in as I came across it and showed it to her and she was like oh we have to go there. Thanks for the reply, it’s interesting watching you guys as I feel a little like I can relate to Tia as a person from your vibe and I see a lot of parallels I was a little hesitant expressing what I thought as I could have been reading it all wrong haha but it just flooded back to me. Also when we were in India our little camera slipped down behind the bed from the bedside table at the hotel in Amritsar and I didn’t realise until we got to Agra at like 11pm (that panic when you realise argh) next morning had to go to a Internet cafe to try email but to my surprise they already contacted me and asked how to return it…we had organised our hotel for 7days time in Delhi already so asked if they could get it there to which they said yes no problem. When we are arrived at the hotel it was waiting for us and they told us the manager had hand delivered it himself which is around 7.5hrs each way minimum on train I was blown away. So glad you found your cable but different times no hardly any places had wifi back then I feel old haha

Wow, it sounds like you had a really special, memorable trip. I love hearing about other peoples' trips. The way you and your friend planned your trip is really, really cool. That is ridiculously kind, what that hotel manager did for you in India. We are really excited to visit when the world situation normalizes a bit more. India seems like a really fascinating place. It seems to have a very mixed reputation where travel is concerned, but it sounds like you really enjoyed it and I think we would too 😊

If you come to Seoul, Korea, you will be able to enjoy another much more beautiful night view right in front of your eyes than the usual view of Namsan and Lotte Tower. In particular, if you go up to Eungbongsan Mountain and Geumho Mountain in Hawangsimni-dong, Geumho-dong, just a few kilometers between Cheonggyecheon Stream and Seoul Forest Park, you can enjoy badminton (get off at shin-Geumho Station or take a taxi) and there are many beautiful and delicious foods. Also, if you walk slowly for about two hours from the place called Dulle-gil starting from Maebongsan Mountain in Geumho Mountain, you can reach Namsan Mountain This place is very close to Gwangjang Market Jungang Market. It is close to Seongsu Bridge, Hannam Bridge and Dongho Bridge on the Han River. Therefore, it is very close to Apgujeong Station on Gangnam Station. I hope you have a wonderful and beautiful trip to Seoul The two spectacular views of the Han River are located at the summit of Eungbongsan Mountain (81m high) and Maebongsan Mountain (95m high) in Seongdong-gu. What's even funnier is that the distance between the two is 3.1km by car and only 2.4km by foot blog.naver.com/koam0816/221325946668 kzbin.info/door/wcoBhnVg9YkS9Y8FfK_ddg ※ (All taxis take about the same distance and time as the basic fare, and everything below is on foot) From Myeong-dong => (Northeast direction) About 20 minutes from Gwangjang Market 1.5km, from Gwangjang Market => (Southeast direction) About 10 minutes to Dongdaemun ddp 900m, from there (east direction) about 10 minutes to Jungang Market (Sindang-dong, Sangwangsimni Station) 900m, Jungang Market => (east direction) about 20 minutes to Wangsimni Market 1.5km, Wangsimni Market => (Southwest direction) to Jibu Station About 30 minutes 2km, Maebongsan Park 30 minutes 1.7km, from Maebongsan Park (Southeast direction) to Seoul Forest Park 2.4km to Namsan Tower using 3. Thank you for the great video! The Silla Dynasty, which unified the Korean Peninsula, made Gyeongju the capital for 1,000 years. A lot of gold was collected from the streams and rivers around Gyeongju, and Silla's gold and silver workmanship was beyond human imagination. For Silla's gold, many countries, including ancient Japan, which had low technology levels of iron and gold at that time, frequently invaded Gyeongju. The Korean Peninsula was surrounded by geopolitics and many ruins were burned down during many wars . However, at the time, Gyeongju in Silla was a world-class city, filled with many buildings, Buddhist temple , bridges, palaces, etc., and even in Arabia, it was painted as a utopia. Although Gyeongju is now a quiet provincial city on the outside. but It is a mysterious place that is still overflowing with stories and legends left over for 1,000 years.

Most of all, I'm so sorry that I gave you guys the misinformation. I took a ride along the lake last year and I have no idea what's happened afterwards. I'm so sorry to cause you guys such inconveniences. I apologize for the misinformation.🙏 It's the monsoon season in Korea so the weather is really hot and humid especially in July onwards mid August. I'm glad you enjoyed Dareungwon. Daereungwon means Great Tombs Park and let me tell you that the Korean pine trees are famous for the special beauty and I can say the quality as well. Some of the kinds are very very rare in its shape and color wise. Though the tree's circumferenceid not that big but it can grow to a very tall almost up to 80 feet. There are quite stunning pine trees at the place called Najeong in Gyoungju(in my opinion). In addition, there is a saying that even for dog leash was gold in Silla dynasty(in a book called Kush Nama, the Persian epic poem part of a mythical history of Iran written by Ḥakim Iranshān(or Irānshāh) b. Abu'l-Khayr between the years 501-04/1108-11- it shows some relation btw Persia and Silla at that time). Enjoy your trip in Gyoungju as well as else where in Korea.🍀

DNA Analysis Confirms Japanese are the descendants of the Korean----Aug/02/2013 The present day Japanese are the mixed descendants of the archipelago’s earliest settlers Jomon-jin and the late-comers Yayoi-jin who crossed the strait from the Korean peninsula, according to a genetic analysis. The researchers from the Graduate University for Advanced Studies [Sokendai] of Kanagawa prefecture [Japan] published the results of their findings in the Journal of Human Genetics on November 1st This research further confirms previous research findings by analysing over 900,000 DNA mutations per person, significantly improving the robustness of the result. The researchers focused on a population sample of 460 from Kanto, mainland Chinese, European descendants, in additionto another 71 Ainus and Okinawans. The result shows the present-day Japanese are the inter-marriage between the earlier settlers and later-comers. This confirms the the ‘mixed-blood’ ancestry hypothesis. The Ainus were closest to the native Okinawans and less so to the Kanto population. The Kanto population displayed the most genetic resemblance to Koreans. Until now, there have been a number of theories postulating on the origin of the Japanese, first of which was the Jomon dispersal-adaptation hypothesis, the displacement by the Yayoi population on the Jomon population, and the mixed-blood ancestry between the Jomon and the Yayoi. Sokedai’s professor Saito Naruya confirmed that the finding matched the mixed-blood ancestry hypothesis The researchers plan to conduct further DNA sample analysis from the bones recovered from the Jomon burial sites. The golden crown originated from the Middle East. For Koreans, the golden crown is a symbol of who we are. Because the Chinese never wear a golden crown in their history. The Korean language is similar to Mongolian, and it is a trace of nomadic people.
