Korea University Dorm Tour | 14 Day Quarantine in SEOUL

Hi loves! Today I’ll be showing you around my dorm room in Korea University (고려대학교) Anam International House located in Anam, Seoul. KU accepted applications for their on-campus quarantine program based on a first-come first-served basis! I wish I could show you guys around the whole building, but for now we’re not allowed to exit our rooms - only open our doors a bit to fetch our food 3x a day (they place the plastic bags on our doorknobs).
You must have a lot of questions since I’m springing this up on you out of nowhere (suprise! haha), but drop any questions down below or in my IG and I might do a general Q&A soon. Hope you aren’t TOO shookt, and hopefully this helps any of you out there that are looking to move into this dorm in upcoming semesters! Enjoy!

@@rachmadfirdaus9595 Hi thanks for asking 👋 The fees vary depending on what semester you enroll but on their website they say it's 13,700 Korean Won per night. So just multiply that by how many days your semester will last. Hope that helped!

Compare to snu and yonsei dorm, this dorm is soooo spaciousssssss.. im applying to get my masters in either snu or yonsei so i usually checkout dorm tours there and randomly came across ur video. Nice one. I enjoyed this alot 😊

Those meals were definitely something I looked forward to everyday 🤤 Although to be fair, they might've been even better than usual because I believe they were ordered from an outside catering company. Either way they were delicious haha

Hi! Thanks for asking, I hope the video was informative too 💕 And yes, we had to pay for quarantine in the dorms. It was about $800-900 for two weeks, inclusive of 3 meals a day. Hopefully it becomes less expensive for you this coming semester, but it is generally less expensive than going through gov't/hotel quarantine. But yeah unfortunately we have to pay for it ourselves 😢

Hi love! Thanks for the question. Oh does that mean you're coming in here for spring semester and you're still required to quarantine? 🥺 In any case - Once your study abroad application is accepted by KU, they will email a quarantine application form as well as all the details (like the submission deadline, etc). Just be on the lookout for it!

Amazing video!! I read in a comment that the price you paid for the dorm a are for semester, but with "semester" do they mean 6 actual months?

Hello! Glad you liked the video ❤️❤️ So I haven't lived in the dorms for the semester, only for the two week quarantine. But based on my research in the KU dormitory website, for Spring 2022 (for example) the check-in date is Feb. 21 and the checkout date is June 23! It's typically less than 6 exact months because one semester lasts about 4-5 months actually. Hope this helps!

Hey! I can't say for sure since I was only in the dorms for quarantine, but I heard from a friend that there was a curfew in the CJ dorms. But they weren't that strict about it. I can't say for sure tho cus I wasn't there myself.

Hi! The food service is only for quarantine, but as far as I know you can get food delivered to the dorms via apps if you want. During quarantine we weren't allowed to go outside our rooms so I can't say for sure if there's a kitchen, but I know for sure that CJ International House has kitchens on every floor. I'm guessing it's probably the same for every dorm on campus 👍

I didn't actually buy many things, so a lot of the stuff I bought I was able to bring back home. The things I wasn't able to fit in my luggage, I gave away to my friends who were staying in Korea! I also cooked a lot so I was able to give ingredients to my friends who also loved cooking 😊

Hi thanks for your questions! I only quarantined in the dorms for 2 weeks so I can't speak to the dorm life but campus life was good despite the virtual classes! It is what you make of it honestly. Hope your semester is face to face though, there will surely be more events that way. And yes there's wifi in the dorms 👍

Hi po! Iba iba yung tuition depending on if mag enroll ka as a regular student, international student, or exchange student. Depende din po sa kung ano yung major niyo kasi iba-iba yung tuition kada department. Sorry hindi kita mabigyan ng mas concrete na answer kasi case-by-case talaga po sya! I recommend checking yung official Korea University website nalang po 🙏 As for the Anam International dorm, currently 2,070,800 KRW sya para single room at 1,661,600 KRW kapag double (like yung sa video ko). That rate is for one full semester na po. Hope this helps!

It's a first come first served basis with limited spots :) You can also quarantine in a gov't facility or an approved air bnb/ house, it just depends on your situation 💕

Hi! Because I came in as an exchange student, the requirements for entering weren't hard. It may be different if you were to apply as a regular student. As for the classes I took, the level of difficulty really depends on the department and the professor. I suggest viewing all the class syllabi so you can choose a class/professor that fits right with your learning style!

Hello! Thanks for asking 😊 I applied through my home university's study abroad program so it was all done through my school. If you want to apply as a full-time student however and not just an exchange student, the process will be different! I suggest going to Korea University's 'Global Services Center' website. They have information on there about how to apply for both exchange and full-time international students 💕

So I applied through my home uni's study abroad program, got chosen and nominated, and then my application got sent to KU for approval as well. But if you go through the GKS or any other program, the application process can look different~ I'm also here for just one semester!
