Netflix largely works with Korean production studios (like Studio Dragon) - and they are the ones that refuse to work with these actors. When they get blacklisted in SK, they get blacklisted at every studio, no matter what network they air on.
@karmacounselorАй бұрын
Thank you for clarifying that!
@person35790Ай бұрын
@@karmacounselorI have only seen a couple produced by Netflix that I can think of - Attorney Woo, The Glory, Tomorrow - the rest are Studio Dragon, Studio Plex, CJ ENM , hwa & dam Pictures. No doubt that Netflix has some say in who is cast, but I bet they are defaulting most of the decisions to the producers who know what their main audience in SK will tolerate.

I can't speak for the others, but Yoo Ah In has NOT been blacklisted by Netflix. SK perhaps, but that's a small and insignificant market in the big picture. Your sweeping speculation is unfounded and harmful. It's disappointing to see such baseless claims being made for personal gain. Just stop!

Netflix is ruining the Kdrama style that I love anyway the way they F up all of their originals so I want them to stop producing any. These actors are better off without Netflix.

If they ban Yoo Ah In, then they need to stop using many western actors as well. I think the SA was disproven. But someone could correct me on that.
@person35790Ай бұрын
Netflix isn’t banning anyone. This is hugely misleading - its the producers who refuse to work with these actors. As the producers are South Koreans, they will not work with controversial stars.

You're correct. Insufficient evidence. Between the lines, these trumped up same sex 'SA' allegations were perfectly timed to further negativly impact public opinion prior to his sentencing. It didn't work, however.

This is so ridiculous. Why would Lee Jongsuk show up to a script reading for a drama he never signed a contract for? Would you show up to a workplace you never accepted the job offer from? Plus everyone has the freedom to choose the projects they want to be part of. As far as Netflix you must be blind cause there are home to so many of his dramas.
@YviefromtheUKАй бұрын
I love the bulk of the actors who are banned. This so unfair to punish some of them who did very little in their private lives. Can you imagine if they did that to American actors, there wouldn’t be any actors left to make any movies

You know what’s crazy to me though, an idol drove drunk and killed a person but still has his career. Saeron…should’ve done better however how she got cancelled in comparison is wild to me. O Yeong Su is also strange. That case is odd since it happened in 2017. When victims chose to wait until the assaulter is famous, it rubs me the wrong way. I do hope the truth comes out though. As a female in US, I have seen so many fake cases that even I am suspicious.

I've heard he is very picky with his roles and he didn’t sign any contract. The production wanted the hype to have him on board and announced him before he even signed to put pressure on him (?). This is the production's fault not his. He didn't break any contract, he didn’t sign it.

Should someone's life be turned upside down, destroyed and left in shambles bcos of a mistake? Actors in America do worse but still manage to get roles. Asian fans need to stop this witch-hunting and idolizing of their actors. They are human and thus prone to err, so please let them be. What if the shoe was on your foot, do want your life to end especially after serving time for your mistake either by going to jail, losing ad work or being replace/cut from roles thereby losing income etc... I say enough is enough, they have been vilified enough by the media and should be given a second chance - I do not know of the authenticity of these claims but even if they are true - once time served you should let by-gones be by-gones.
