In fact what attracts the most attention to Nadine (besides her intelligence), is her "weird" personality and the fact that she doesn't try to fight with other women over a man. A competition doesn't have to be with cat fight. In 2022/2023 we are tired (at least the international public) of seeing women against each other, especially to get a men. Better to see the men battle this time.

It’s a shame So-E is getting judged for wearing her heart on her sleeve, for crying openly over things that hurt her feelings. It’s healthy to express one’s feelings rather than suppressing them all the time. She’s a softie who goes after what she wants 😢 People be acting like So-E is some kind of stalker when Yoongjae literally told her she was one of the people he was curious about and that he would give her an honest answer when he was sure about his feelings. But when it was clear that he was favoring Seo-eun, So-E mustered up the courage to get closure and there’s nothing wrong with that. I mean it’s a dating show geez they’re meant to put themselves out there and try to get to know/get noticed by the person they’re interested in. That’s the whole point of the show.

Amen! Preach! He was probably the only person she was attracted to. The girl was being true to herself not forcing herself to go with someone else she knows she has no attraction to. And saying she shouldn't have cried over jy after only knowing him for a few days. Ever think about how you would feel in her place? Your going to this competition dating show and first day you literally get no postcards. Already that's a punch in the ego....like you'd have to be dead or heartless not to feel some type of way. Then the guy that you have the only attraction to (already your kind of sad bc you know he's initially not interested in you bc no postcard) is actually really sweet and kind to you and not really clear about his feelings or lack of feelings towards you, rejects you a second time when it was clear from your time together before the paradise match picking that he was leaning to take you to paradise. Who wouldn't effin cry? The outcome blindsided soe....even the panel was shocked at his choice, so it wasn't just soe being delusional. I think the tears was disbelief and being led on and having her expectation..a valid expectation be destroyed.

I don’t believe So e is that gullible, she’s an acting major lol. Her faces and mannerisms are so practised, also she constantly talks in such a baby tone 🤦🏻‍♀️ plus yoongjae never expressed interest in her. Saying that she’s someone he’s curious about means nothing at all, if you havent realised from the show. Also, it’s not that she should suppress her feelings. Of course she should confess and let it out, but then she needs to move on. It was so obvious that yoongjae was giving her hints that he didn’t really like her, but she cornered him and forced him to turn her down. I don’t believe she’s that incapable of reading people’s energy when she’s an acting major. They literally study situations and human expressions, so as to create them professionally.

Anna, I’ve noticed this thing on Korean dating shows where the man and woman talking to each other never say anything directly to each other but seem to circle around what they are actually trying to say. Am I crazy?? I’ve watched a lot of dating shows and this really flabbergasts me! Have you noticed this? I need someone to explain or tell me it’s my crazy imagination. Haha

You’re right and it’s extremely frustrating to watch adult talk this way. I think Koreans aren’t as direct as westerners and especially since they’re on tv and viewers can judge them.

Omggg it bothers me too like their conversations are so vague it doesn't make sense to me. For example they keep asking "are you curious about others" repeatedly or they won't be transparent with their answers. It's like they are saying something but at the same time not saying anything at all and it feels like everyone's being overly cautious or calculative for absolutely no reason.

Maybe they’re even told by the producers to not directly say ‘I like you’ until the end because that’s the furthest these couples go in Korean dating shows?? 😅 I don’t know the answer either but maybe they’re told to be vague to keep the interest going haha

As a Korean, I think it's more to avoid crossing Korean netizens and haters because they tend to be sensitive. Irl I feel we tend to be more direct than beat around the bush.

Nadine is giving something alot of dating shows don't give!! A clever, classy and sexy babe....who is well mannered and dorky!! Someone relatable.... She is the most relatable cast for me!!! I also love the casting of Soeun, Sejeong and Seulki.... The guys I only like Yoongjae, Jinyoung and Hanbin.... The guys are mostly the probably this season

Personally I think season 1 was so boring I couldn’t finish it. I feel like season 2 is a lot more interesting drama wise. I also think season 2 cast has a lot more variety in terms of personality. I think everyone has a different vibe and they’re a lot more unique. There definitely isn’t anyone with Jia’s main character energy tho. I thought sejeong would but no one’s going for her😭😭

Remember, there are producers outside the camera range, that push characters to do things they might not normally do. On Bachelor in Paradise they even lie to contestants telling them that someone likes then and to keep flirting when the other person hates it…to keep the drama happening.

Season 2 was def boring until JinYoung showed up. He’s an attractive guy, very manly & competitive, down to earth/chill personality. He’s my fav..entertaining without a bunch of drama. I want him with Nadine. I think he can give her the “something casual & hot” that she’s looking for. I like Han-Bin too but he’s getting no love from the girls. It seems he was brought on to do the cooking😂. DongWoo & Nadine had so much in common..not sure why he wasn’t feeling her. YoungJae & Soe-Eun make a cute couple. So-e is so irritating. A woman obsessing over a man like that is so UNATTRACTIVE! I want JongWoo with Seul-Ki so JinYoung can pick Nadine.

I was waiting for your take on this show ❤ edit* so, Anna, I'm here after watching your video. So, i think that nadine will grown on you in the next eps, she'll end up being a really assertive and proactive person towards the guy that she decided on and, at the same time, if she gets rejected, she just moves on and change her focus instead of being emo about it lmaooo. She's indeed akward and dork, but that's part of her charm, she's a really authentic person. She's shy, but not in the way "i'm pure innocent and cute aw", in a natural non-forced way, that end up being really fun. Also, the fact that she don't goes for the guy she wants to talk to if another person it's already talking to him, it's really educated from her, she let the others take their times with jinyoung but at the same time, calls him and take initiative, i think that really attraticve in someone: she demonstrates that she's interested, but doesn't get desperate or clingy. Anyways, i stan nadine, as you might have notice lmaoooo she's my favorite and i'm rooting for her, hope she growns on you too!! There's a new guy that's gonna enter, HE'S THE BEST, he's really wholesome, i think you gonna like him

I can’t believe you don’t like the cast of S2- I love this cast far more than S1!!My daughter agrees with me to, and she is 26 😂 However, for after that Dropping S in ep3 was a strike of a genius! At the moment it’s what 3 of them going after him? Wow! And the ones left on the island seem to have more fun this season. The new girl seem to have a b***ch personality behind this cute smile..I feel will be getting more interesting from now on! I’m glad the new guy likes “the poor Lee so-e” - she was driving me mad!! Not sure if this was just childish stubbornness or what..do you need these characters to become an actress? Relentlessness is not a compliment in shows like this imo. I know this is probably a cultural difference but I don't find Seul KI bubbly at all. I feel like she puts out a "please take care of me you big, strong, strapping man" vibe, and it works. She certainly has several of the guys wrapped around her finger. I would say the same about So-E, which is interesting as it works for Seul Ki but not So-E. I really like Sejeong, Nadine, and Seo Eun. They seem like amazing women. I think Sejeong and Nadine's strength and independence intimidates the men though. Seo Eun has the added bubbliness which helps her in connecting with the guys. I agree with you about Jong Woo being robotic and a tad dizzy, I actually think of him as the Kpop idol member of the cast. (My apologies to all the idols out there). My favorite of the males is Han Bin, he has a fun personality, always smiling, and cooks too! Dong Woo and Yoong-jae are the serious career men, and nothing, not even women will stand between them and their careers. I feel like they are there to enjoy having women fall for them, but not take it too seriously. Jin young is definitely the most interesting male on the island. Confident, assured, fun, totally himself...I can see why he is attracting so much attention. The cast of Ramyun & Chill were 10 TIMES MORE ENTERTAINING than this cast!!! It's clear the R&C producers rock!!! Thanks Anna for the review!

Well, at the beginning Jinyoung was definitely the main character of this season, he was the male version of Jia.. the minute he came everyone wanted him haha but at the end Jongwooo became the main character. I was totally rooting for him and I literally cried when he won the game. Btw Anna : I didn't like Dongwoo AT ALL.. ugh.. He was very sneaky, sleazy and got on my nerves..especially the way he behaved after Nadine told him her major.. he seems to dislike women who are in the same field like him. I hate this kinda conservative macho types so much. I bet he would react differently if she was for example a model. AND I felt sorry for Hanbin and Sejeong.. both are so good looking and sweet..kinda sad they didn't find a partner. I totally disagree that season 2 was boring, I actually preferred it much more. Season 1 had way too many selfish and narcissistic characters to be honest XD it was sometimes hard to like someone there. This season seemed to have actual real couples at the end who genuinely like each other.

Nope and before someone tells me jinyoung was interested in her n stuff yoonjae did not directly say no he was confused asf and when he did say no sir backed off and they are on the show for 9 days ig but there are people who get attached easily and then when the other person doesn't reciprocate they tend to be sensitive but when said no they step back, hope you look at it from all perspectives thank you

Seulki is clearly playing Jongwoo, let's be honest here. She's just tryna make Jinyoung jealous. Also, we don't need another Jia (she was never the mc). I couldn't stand her pretentiousness throughout the show and this was all before all the scandals

I thought it was boring too as well as the conversations until the new guy stirred things up. Dong-Woo was too pushy and needy with Seul-ki at the hotel. He wanted her to basically profess her love for him, when the girl was trying to get to know him. She kept saying I need time and he kept asking how do you feel, do you want to come back with me, do you like me, and etc... Like man, it’s only been a day. You too old to be acting like a teenager! He was pushing her away. That’s a turn off!

Yes Soeun is definitely my favorite girl 💕💕💕💕💕. I am same with you , didn't liked Seulki at first but now she is growing on me. I will go for Yongjae too xD Least favourite will definitely be Soe too Also as a producer I really really want to ask your honest opinion if you have watched the new episodes where Sejun comes. Do you think the producer send him specifically for Soe? So she won't be left out and they won't be criticised for being a show of too 'beauty standard' focused? Because Sejun (so freaking handsome) but his words seems fishy.

I think s2 is better because they learned from s1 and the cast had more believable chemistry with each other. And while I think no one has the main character energy, Jia didn't really bring that energy last season either- I think she was just thought of as the 'hottest' but she literally had 0 personality while on the show. I also found the pacing to be better in s2 whereas s1 did start feeling very repetitive.

That is such an interesting take. I think this season has a much better looking cast. I also wasn't a fan Jia last season; but Seulki and the rest of the girls were very likeable to me. I think the 2nd season was much better, more entertaining, and better looking overall. In my humble western opinion lol

Honey, I so agree with you. The first 3 episodes were so boring I almost stop watching it. Then when Jin-young appeared and the chemistry him and Seul-Ki share is unbelievable. Love their scene in Paradise when she said she would wait for him and she asked him if she could cross his boundaries. HOOOOT! 🔥🔥 Where not even going to mention the pool scene. 🔥🔥 No one else on the show for me is exciting. Can’t wait for next week.

i swear! when he was looking at her in the pool his eyes, OMG his eyes were so expressive! I'm pretty sure as well if there was no camera there one of them would've made a move on the other kissing or anything else, the tension was up there. But sadly things got in their way and they didn't have a chance to go with each other again.

@@dominiquemelissa7613 , I know! When he took her finger in the water she started looking around to see where the camera’s were. Even the hostesses were screaming!!!! Ugggh, I just loved how Suel-Ki disarmed him. He couldn’t even look her in the eye after that. But he loved it! He also he told the other young lady that took him to paradise twice he does not like to be comfortable with someone he is pursuing romantically. 😂

He even told Min-Su he wanted to get to know other people & she still chose him for Paradise. She ticked me off bcuz I wanted Nadine & JinYoung at Paradise together.

@@kimleemoon , I didn’t want him to go with Nadine. I am not seeing their chemistry being as strong as him and Seul Ki. The very next day after they came back from Paradise he kept looking for Seul Ki. Hell I was looking for her for him. 😂 I am so mad he came in 3rd place with the wrestling. Now Jong Woo is probably going to pick her. I don’t think she attracted to him romantically.

Nadine is my fave on the show, but I totally get you when you were confused about how everyone's calling her queen and everything, like I like nadine for her quirky and awkward cuteness and her kind personality, there's literally nothing about her that screams "boss woman" unlike jia (other than her being a harvard student) But I read on twt where someone said foreigners hype nadine sm bc she's American and she's someone Americans self insert into (eg: wanting the best guy aka jinyoung, for the self insert aka nadine)

It's true. Western women will self insert into any female character who's the underdog, masculine high achiever type. It's what we're taught to idolise. It's also why the more demure and feminine contestants trigger the Western viewers so much.

No one is forcing Nadine on him? The man has publicly said he’s interested in her. Even after the show he’s said that he still interested in her. He just liked Seulki more. It’s possible to be attracted to more than one person you know.

Anna, I agree with you that Season 2 is not as interesting as Season 1. They are all beautiful and I still am turning in but they are not holding my attention like last season. I find myself either fast forwarding or browsing on my phone. I really wish you had been chosen for the show. I would have loved that. I really enjoyed your NY vlogs as well. Keep up the good work.

Interesting… nice to hear your comments but I can’t relate to liking season 1 better than season 2. Season 2 felt more wholesome, even showing it to guys who really are not into dating shows, they liked how non toxic it was. Even if they were there for the attention, none seemed like it. Compared to season 1, I could actually feel like these couples would last. Season 1 felt like what it was, a reality show, too much drama. Season 2 felt relaxing, I enjoyed the chemistry of Youngjae and Seoeun (something people might peg as boring). Also I don’t know if it’s because I am not Asian or Korean, but the guys and girls in season 2 look way better.
