Not uneducated; informed people. Why on earth are you still pushing that Islam is a religion of peace? In Yemen alone, it is estimated that more than 370000 Muslims have died at the hands of other Muslims. And that's not counting several thousands that die each day in other Muslim countries. Why do you think that every Muslim who can afford it seeks refuge in Western Europe or other democratic countries?!

As much as I like her response, here's some of the thing that is worth mentioning about halal food that she might have missed. Other than ensuring that the food does not contain pork, pig gelatin, pigs blood, alcohol, wine, etc, we also have to make sure the production or the food making process is clean, healthy and ensure the food does not cause any kind of illness. We also cannot eat anything that is still alive or die by itself, for example eating animal that got hit by a car. we also cannot eat from plates/containers/cutlery that has been used previously from non halal food, or use cooking utensils that are stained from non halal food (pork/alcohol) unless we clean them through a process that we call "Sertu" the term is used to describe the purification process of mughallazah najis (excrement) which are dog and swine by washing it seven times and one of the washing is with water mixed with soil, whether the najis is aini or hukmi. If it came into contact with clothing, body or place. now eating ethics for muslim , we're not only saying bismillah but there's actually a "dua" before eating and after eating. on seafood, yes we can eat seafood unless they are poisonous or include/mixed with non halal ingredients in the serving for example if they cook them with alcohol, wine or pork. so you may have questions like if muslims got stranded in a place with NO halal food resources, not even vegetables, like nothing at all, can they eat non halal food? then yes we can eat non halal food but only to survive. anyways there's so much more about halal, it does not only cover food, it can be products like bags, shoes, clothes, carpets, daily essentials, cosmetics, etc. It's a very long topic that even some muslims also take time to understand. I know some non muslims or ignorants would think these are a lot of "restrictions" but it's really not like that. It is also important to note that my response may differ from her coz we do not have the same background and the way islam is practice in her country might be slightly different from mine coz we followed different Madhab. Madhab is a school of thought within fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence). The major Sunni Madhhab are Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i and Hanbali. In my country (malaysia) The Islamic judges are expected to follow the Shafi`i legal school of Islam, which is the main madh'hab of Malaysia. Therefore, this is not really an easy topic to discuss especially without deeper knowledge of Islam, it even take me an incredibly long time to comment this because this is a topic of my religion and I do not wish to mislead people. However if you find any error from my response feel free to correct me under this post! Lastly I am very thankful and appreciate the effort of this channel for bringing more exposure on islam and muslims towards Korean! I know they were a lot of issues and stigmas that muslim people have to face not only in korea bc of our religion so this really meant a lot.

yes, even for body care (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, etc.) and also medicines must go through a halal inspection process by the relevant assembly from the country where the product will be distributed and only then will the product have a halal certificate and be safely distributed. And as you wrote, halal is a complex issue. Even after obtaining halal certification, the goods will change to haram if the method of obtaining these goods is not in accordance with Islamic rules. Ps: Correct me if im wrong 🙏🏼

Sadly, she had to move back to her family when her mother got ill, so we couldn't see her often anymore. She's a really sweet lady and so is the rest of her family. I miss her. Depending of which of the four schools you follow seafood is considered halal or not. The biggest group, Hanafis consider it non-permissible. Which makes sense since they are scavengers and cleaners of the sea, like hyenas and vultures. They also filter the water through themselves cleaning the water which makes them prone to being carriers of bacteria and other poisons. They are also the most common thing to be allergic to. Fish is of course halal according to everyone.
