I remember Selena, Tupac, and Biggies deaths. It was 3 straight years of the minority community losing their biggest stars for what felt like no reason. I remember after Biggie's death there were grief counselors brought in. I also remember two girls just completely beside themselves when the news broke about Biggie being shot. The teachers at the time sat with us to talk about the "war" that was going on and how it affected us and none of us really understood it. I still really don't. The biggest thing I could remember was thinking is how these rich and famous people, from Selena all the way to Princess Diana who died the same year as Biggie, were being killed so senselessly. It was a weird time from '95 to '97.

A point of correction. Biggie actually NEVER dissed Tupac. Tupac was shot in New York and survived before he was shot again and killed a few years later. Biggie made a song called "who shot ya" before Tupac was shot for the first time in New York and Tupac took the song to mean that Biggie was behind the first shooting incident which Biggie and P-diddy denied. That's how the beef started and led Tupac to make the infamous diss song called "Hit em up." But Biggie never responded with any diss songs of his own.

Sadly, banning all guns in the USA wouldn't work. We are too large a country with too many firearms. The biggest problem would be that those who follow the law would give up their firearms and those who don't would still have their guns. What then? The current system we have needs to change in some way but I'm not sure in what way. Seeing as depending on the state to legally own a gun you have to procide a valid photo ID such as your driver’s license, government-issued identification card, passport, or military ID, and typically another form of ID or evidence confirming your current address, such as a CCW (carrying concealed weapon) permit or a utility bill. You will need to fill out and sign an ATF Form 4473 Firearms Transaction Form that attests you are legally eligible to purchase a gun. The gun dealer will review your information and then run it through the federal FBI National Instant Criminal Background Check (NICS) database for a criminal background check. There may also be state-level checks performed where required. By federal law, 18-year-olds may purchase shotguns and rifles, and 21-year-olds may purchase handguns, shotguns, and rifles. However, many states, cities, and municipalities have passed their own, more restrictive firearms laws. So people who LEGALLY own their firearms shouldn't be punished for what the few do.

I remember where I was when John Lennon was senselessly murdered, hypermnesia. Can you just imagine, he was nice enough to stop and sign an autograph and the guy kills him. Most of the songs he wrote were about peace and love and what I understand he was a very nice person. He wrote so many songs most people don't realize they are listening to his music in an instrumental.
