Oh i really hope it will turn out exactly like my first try coz it was definitely a bomb. Thank you Seonkyoung for sharing all your recipe. Merry Christmas!!!!

Tried out the glaze yesterday and it fit in fantastic! Thanks! We don't celebrate thanksgiving in germany, but I made duck legs. With red cabbage and potato dumplings. The glaze fit in perfectly with the poultry as well as with the chestnuts that had baked a day before, very coarsly broke into pieces and soaked over night with the red cabbage (a canned product). I could even think of serving chestnuts with this glaze as a side dish in other recipes. Some chestnuts turned out a little too hard after baking. The soaking over night had every single piece turn out just perfect. Thumbs up!

What apple cider did you use? Vinegar apple cider or the beverage itself? Sorry I'm not familiar with the names, I'll be thankful if you help
@peterdoe26173 жыл бұрын
@@syri8766 It's the beverage itself (Sorry: I had to look it up again, myself. It's been a while.) I live in Germany. So I go mostly with what's available. My favourite apple cider is english "Strongbow" brand. I think we don't have to be really picky, here: it's one ingredient in a lot of other things. I'd always go for anything that is not overly sweet. In this case, even that might work just fine. But it's definetely cider and not vinegar. Where are you located? You'll find lots of cooking channels I'm subscribed to in my profile. From Germany to the UK, the US and Canada, India and Kambodia.
@syri87663 жыл бұрын
@@peterdoe2617 Thank you so much (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*.✧ I'll check your channel (人 •͈ᴗ•͈) also I have another question 😅 I didn't quite get the roasting part...she said that at halfway we should rotate the turkey and that we should cover with aluminium foil...like how should I rotate the turkey? And do we have to place the aluminium foil when the turkey is still in the oven when it reaches halfway (so about 30 minutes) and let it roast for the remaining minutes? And then when it finishes roasting we let it rest for the aluminium foil for 20 more minutes? Or did I get something wrong? And is it okay not to add apple cider?!
@peterdoe26173 жыл бұрын
@@syri8766 Ahhh.bout the roasting: from what I know: you wanna turn it around to fry it in air. Not simmering in juice. Which would create a wobbley skin. About the aluminium foil: You could use parchment paper. The trick is to keep it from getting burned too much. Many sources today tell us to not use aluminium foil. Surely: with contact to acidic stuff, the aluminium is prone to penetrate the food. We don't want that. I'm not a chemeist. Not even a chef. But it makes sense to me. Back to your topic: Air, circulating around the skin might be able to make it crispy. Sitting in juices is just "wet". About the cider: Maybe apple juice might be O.K.? Never tried it. But: what is cider good for? The alcohol might tenderize the meat. That is, what alcohol does. The only purpose it has in a marinade. Knowing that: your decision. What I love a bout cooking: the learning never stops. The options are endless.

@itsmarlyofficial4 жыл бұрын
Just double the recipe for a 20lb bird. Or if you have a 15lb bird, take the recipe and half everything. Then add it to the original. So the 3 liters of water you would add 1.5 making it 4.5 liters for a 15lb bird. Hope that makes sense/helped

@@syri8766 there’s a drink that’s called apple cider. One year I found it but another year I had to use apple juice concentrate from the freezer. That year was the year it tasted the best actually haha.
@syri87663 жыл бұрын
@@Whompsmiggee Thank you so much for replying. So that means I can't use vinegar apple cider? And one more question please, I didn't quite understand the part where she places the aluminium foil and rotates the turkey. She said that halfway we have to rotate the turkey...how to rotate it? She also said that halfway we have to place aluminium...so like place aluminium in the oven itself and let it continue roasting for the leftover minutes? Or is it only after it is fully roasted that we place the aluminium foil?
@Whompsmiggee3 жыл бұрын
@@syri8766 no, don’t use apple cider vinegar. In regards to rotation of the turkey, you just turn the pan you have the turkey on the opposite way. So if the head is facing left, turn it right. It’s just so the turkey cooks with even heat all the way around. And the foil, you put that on if you feel the skin is getting too brown. The foil will prevent the skin from burning but continue cooking.
