I love how grandma is just unapologetically her. When she enjoys a meal you can see how much she loves it and she is not ashamed to give things a taste. Though her sense of adventure may not physically take her away from Korea I think these food journeys will continue to allow to explore the ends of the earth with just her taste buds!

Mushy peas are made from marrowfat peas, they definitely don't need to be blended, I like them chunkier. The vinegar that we use is always malt vinegar, it's not very strong but has a good taste.

That is because number one they are aggressive rats with wings. They are like the dumber cousin of the crow. Gulls not only hunt for their food, but they also scavenge as well. They are carrion birds. They will eat dead things. Number two people think it is cool to feed them, so they have grown accustom to associating people with food. No food is safe when Gulls are around. None! One solution stop feeding them. It is not cute to go to the beach and throw them food.

As a British-England viewer, fish and chips isnt for everyone but most people enjoy basic white fish and most people love fries (despite being very thickly cut), peas? Not common to enjoy but here- the whole ‘meal’ is usually eaten sat next to a beach/seafront on a sunny afternoon with a small wooden fork. The setting is half the enjoyment, but you definitely proved the dish justice, it looked very authentic

That was fun. I'm Australian and never knew about the mushy peas with fish until I watched an English food review yesterday. The vinegar I knew about, and yes it tastes good. Another surprise for me was that the English also enjoy curry sauce (like a gravy) with their fish & chips. In Australia an old fashioned take away food was meat pie with mashed potato, gravy & mashed peas. I think it's less common these days, so I make it for myself at home & when also for guests. Pies, peas, gravy, mashed potato & icy cold beers. Ahhhhhh nothing better than to share that lovely relaxed dining with friends. Within no time people are laughing & telling stories. It's good!!

In Australia, the fish in our fish & chips is typically flake (baby shark - we only eat native sharks that there's a steadily high volume of, they breed quickly, and the fishing of these sharks is monitored carefully) if cooked correctly the flesh is very moist, flaky, and has a delicate although slightly sweet flavour. However, some Australian's especially in the Northern part of the country are just as likely to eat other fish native to Austral-Asia waters such as barramundi, trevalla, trevally, etc. as they are flake.

in England they often serve it just plain, no side dish. "Mushy peas" is not usually actually mashed. It is just peas cooked long enough to be really soft, enough to mash easily with your fork. In the U.S. they serve fish and chips with cole slaw usually (shredded cabbage with some shredded carrot and a mayonnaise and sweet cider vinegar dressing)

Down south most of our traditional chippy owners sold up , mostly to chinese , over the years. Their kids became middle class so didnt want any part of a greasy chippy. But anyway, down here we liked our chips extra crispy with brown and red sauce , tartar sauce etc. Gravy was defo available though. Anyway you cant really find it about anymore, they all use different oil now and it tastes horrible compared to even the 90s. So yeah on this one i'll concede defeat, just because we lost all our good chippies . Kind of like what has happened with chinese takeaways here too, kids dont wanna take over so they retire and sell up.

Enjoyable video. Here are a few tips when eating British food. Use your knife and fork together in both hands; and do not set the knife down until you are finished. Second: our different food items on the plate are intended to be eaten together, so pile up a bit of everything on the fork and eat it together; preferably with a strong cup of English black tea (no American/herbal/flavoured teas please). With a full English breakfast (back bacon, beans in tomato sauce, fried mushrooms, fried egg, fried bread, black pudding, fried tomatoes (no tinned mush); you must get at least 3 food items onto your fork at once and mix-and-match, so as to get different flavour combinations. Good Eating!

I love grandma. So glad you enjoyed the most famous British meal. A little tip with the mushy peas is to add a little salt, vinegar and mint to them. It brings them to life.

Whether you're eating fishy and chipsu or eating fishu and chipsy, either one is a great choice and equally delicious.

To Koreanize it they could have a cup of kimchi brine instead of salt and vinegar. But fish and chips with malt vinegar and salt and even some on the peas is just **chef's kiss**

You cooked those peas perfectly! Yes, an amazing comfort food dish. In Scotland we use haddock not cod, but it’s great. Aw grandma, eat well and prosper!

No, you’re wrong, eaten in moderation (not daily) fish n chips is a healthy nutritious meal. A good fish n chip shop will drain excess oil and the fish is of course virtually fat free in itself. People on diets often report “I ate fish n chips, and lost weight”

@@hythekent and the big chips absorb less oil. Think it is meant to be the healthiest fast food in the UK. Especially if you do not eat the batter.
