hi maangchi, i made this about 15 minutes ago for my mom who can’t chew due to her new dentures. she’s been living off of sausage for about a month now, so i felt really bad. i found your recipe and decided to give it a try! i diced everything really small and she absolutely loved it. she works as a chef at a hotel, and had absolutely no complaints whatsoever. i’m so grateful for you maangchi! for the first time in a month, my mom had a proper meal and loved it. thank you! love from hawaii

This may sound trivial but I so love how Maangchi always films when she washes her hands/her utensils/her ingredients. It´s something I sometimes miss when I watch regular local cookshows, yet I find it so important to prepare and cook your meals cleanly, especially if you use eggs or meat.

I just made a vegetarian version of this with some local mushrooms instead of meat like you suggested and it's phenomenal!! 😍😍😍 The mushroom flavor really compliments the smokiness of the gochugaru, they have a pleasant chew to them and the dish pairs beautifully with iced oolong tea ❤ I've been on a long-term weight loss journey and I've been trying a lot more Korean food because of it because there is so much incredible, healthy and low calorie density Korean food out there that doesn't sacrifice at all when it comes to flavor! Plus so much of it is shockingly easy and quick to make. I've been dieting and loosing weight and yet I feel like I'm eating like a king 👑 I will never be able to go without gochugaru, gochujang, Korean soybean paste, kimchi and sesame oil in my kitchen ever again.

I share a lot of these videos with a cousin of mine. Her mom was Japanese, and my cousin actually lived in Japan with her parents (who met during WWII) for quite a few years growing up. Her mom died of cancer quite a few years ago. When her mother was younger, a child herself, she had lived in or near where the bombings in Hiroshima and Nagasaki...and her problems with cancer later in life were as a result of this. My cousin always talks about the different things her mom would cook in the Japanese style. So I share these with her and even though the dishes may be slightly different in some ways, there are a lot of them that are familiar to her. She loves the videos.

Another winner from Maangchi! I would like to try to make this. My oldest son LOVES to cook Korean food and was so happy when I gave him your cookbook. He has teenagers of his own now and they all eat it too. You're the cutest, Maangchi. With Love From BanDana Gramma
