There is no record of the completion of a turtle ship, and there is no record of it ever fighting against the Japanese navy. Of the 13 ships that survived the Battle of Myeongliang, there were no turtle ships, and even if they sank somewhere, no wreckage has been found. The turtle ship is a lie fabricated by Koreans. The last time Yi Sun-shin fought in a superior position against Japan was at the Battle of Hansando, just three months after the start of the war, when the Japanese navy had not yet completed its equipment. For the next seven years, Yi Sun-shin was defeated in every battle. The 23 wins in 23 battles that Koreans claim is a complete lie. Yi Sun-shin was never a strong commander. This is a fact recorded in the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty.

@@TheLastMagneticField There is no mention of the Turtle Ship in Japanese records from the time of the war. Neither the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty nor Yi Sun-sin's diary mention the completion of the Turtle Ship or the fighting with the Japanese navy. The Japanese created a cartoon for children based on the Turtle Ship, because the Turtle Ship was written in a book imported from Korea more than 100 years after the war. Also, the picture of the Turtle Ship drawn by a Korean was made more than 100 years after the war.

The background of this Seven Years' War is that the carelessness and arrogance of Joseon (Korea), which enjoyed only peace and culture for 200 years, treated Yamato (Japan) as a barbaric pirate group rather than a country. However, Yamato had a high level of tactics through clan battles for 100 years, and the 170,000 troops of Toyotomi, who unified the whole country, armed with Portuguese matchlocks and attacked Joseon. Historically, Japan has waged a surprise war without a declaration of war. In Yamato's Hundred Years' War, the feudal lords obtained land and citizens when they surrendered, but the king of Joseon fled and the militia and monks were active. Crucially, Joseon's personal weapons were bows, spears, and swords, but there were various cannons. Yi Sun sin's the world's top 3 naval admiral and the turtle ship is an invincible Korean Item in the Age of Empires.

The Turtle Ship had a flat bottom, so it could not move upwind when the sails were raised. Also, the spikes on the deck made it impossible to raise the sails. The gunpowder used in the cannons at that time was black powder, so a lot of black smoke was produced when fired. Therefore, if a cannon was placed inside the ship, soldiers would die. If a lot of iron spikes were placed on the deck, the weight balance would be lost and the ship would capsize. In fact, a reproduction experiment was conducted in Korea in recent years, but the ship capsized while being towed. The design of the Turtle Ship that Koreans claim is unreasonable and impossible to realize.

May be you, Japanese guy wants to believe the Turtle ship to be fake, ridiculously. But there is no evidence that your mention ia true, right? 😊 For example, as for the gun powder issue, the cannons were not completely "embedded" in the superstructure, instead they were protruded out side. So, the possibility that black gun powder killed the soldiers inside was extremely low.
@hiroono14 ай бұрын
@@물고기-d9e There is no record that the Turtle Ship was completed, nor that it fought against the Japanese navy. The only records of the Turtle Ship's exploits are in the Jeongbi-roku, written by Ryu Seong-ryong, who did not see the battle, based on hearsay and imagination, and fiction written more than 100 years after the battle. They are all complete fabrication. Recent Korean people have tried to recreate the Turtle Ship several times, but all of them have failed and sunk, so they are now all on display on land. The structure itself, which can carry many heavy iron spikes and cannons on the deck, is impossible. And Koreans have searched the seabed of Chilcheonryang, where the Turtle Ship is supposed to have sunk, many times, but have not been able to find even a single iron spike. It's all a lie. The smoke from the cannons at that time did not come out forward. It came out backward. A cannon that the Japanese navy captured from Korea still exists. It is poorly cast and emits a lot of smoke. It is obvious that if it was fired, the inside of the ship would turn black. According to Yi Sun-sin's diary and the Japanese records, the main weapon of the Korean navy was flaming arrows. These were actually effective and were the reason for the victory over the Wakisaka forces in the Battle of Hansan Island. However, after the Battle of Hansan Island, when the Japanese navy set up artillery batteries on the cape, Yi Sun-sin was unable to do anything. So he began to ignore the Joseon Dynasty's orders to attack, and was punished. He was not demoted because of a conspiracy. It was because he deserted from the enemy. It was a punishment he deserved.
