Neither the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty nor Yi Sun-sin's diary mention the completion of the Turtle Ship or the fighting with the Japanese navy. The Japanese created a cartoon for children based on the Turtle Ship, because the Turtle Ship was written in a book imported from Korea more than 100 years after the war. The only records of the Turtle Ship's exploits are in the Jeongbi-roku, written by Ryu Seong-ryong, who did not see the battle, based on hearsay and imagination, and fiction written more than 100 years after the battle. They are all complete fabrication. Recent Korean people have tried to recreate the Turtle Ship several times, but all of them have failed and sunk, so they are now all on display on land. The structure itself, which can carry many heavy iron spikes and cannons on the deck, is impossible. And Koreans have searched the seabed of Chilcheonryang, where the Turtle Ship is supposed to have sunk, many times, but have not been able to find even a single iron spike. It's all a lie.
