If you are sensitive to fragrance, then J Beauty is a better choice, since most skin care from Japan is made without perfumes. With K Beauty, it's hit or miss, but most products have a fragrance, many smell like baby powder or flowers too, not usually refreshing or natural scents like citrus or mint.

I choose moisturizing and SPF! When all the K-beauty started hitting social media, I asked my SIL who is Korean. She giggled and said she and her friends are too busy living to do 12 steps... she cleanses - only once - and moisturizes. No makeup unless it's a lipstick - and yes - her skin at 60 is perfect!!!

I think it depends on the person. I was in Korea for a couple months and there are for sure people who do more. I would say the biggest thing is the SPF. they don't mess around with that

I work in Korea (countryside) & my coworker said the same thing! She is 32. I personally have good skin genetically so I don't really need 12 steps. Also my coworker goes & gets facials professionally (which are really affordable here). So that is something I've incorporated into my routine every 4 weeks. Many celebrities & famous people here use the 12 step but the camera & makeup is harsh on their skin and the pressures of being famous.

Japanese products are more ph-balanced, gentle, alcohol-free, fragrance-free. It’s all about soothing, balancing, and hydrating your skin. I have oily acne-prone skin and Korean products tend to irritate my skin. Japanese products calms it and reduced breakouts.

I'm using japanese products now, and i really love it. Their products are paraben free, alcohol free, fragrance free and colorant free. And their products actually super hydrating, they using light lotion (which is like water) rather than toner, and their moisturizer are working amazingly to lock the moist in my face. But i combine with 2 products of korean which are aloe vera gel and sheet mask, and those work wonderful, my forehead bumps dissapears. I prefer japanese simplicity actually, korean wear so much and sometimes it doesnt needed but their products are great tho. I add 2 steps of my routines which are organic green tea water and rose water which help my skin get clearer and brighter

Emira Nura we use “skin softeners” (nyūeki aka milk liquid,). But we use toners we use nyūeki/ lotion after toner. The basic Japanese skin care is: Cleanse with oil base, double cleanse with water base, toner, nyūeki/ lotion, serum, cream, spf A little bit more concentrated skincare: double cleanse, peeling / chemical exfoliant, toner, essence, nyūeki, serum, pack/ sheet mask, cream,eye cream, spf *Btw not proper order soz*

Hi Jen! I love watching your videos and especially enjoy how you incorporate trends from around the world as well as tried and true methods. My question is this: using natural products is a big thing. Using less products, more essences and essential oils, aloe vera etc... What is your opinion on the natural products vs chemical products front? Do you find that a lot of the effects supposedly given by natural products are hyped up? Do you do research into the chemical products that you use? I'm trying to create a new skincare routine for myself and I'm not sure which route to go Thank you!

Hi, Jeni, I love your videos they are really helpful. Can I use rose water as my toner? 😁😘😜😍
@AlexisLeigh-
@AlexisLeigh- 5 жыл бұрын
Fresh has a Rose water toner, and my skin loves it! If you're using rose water not marketed as skincare, you would want to check on any added ingredients. Coloring or added fragrance wouldn't be the best if the rose water isn't designed for the skin, as those additives would be more likely to irritate the skin(often these ingredients even included in skincare can irritate many people). If it does not contain added ingredients that aren't typically in skincare, then it could be good to try as a toner. In my opinion, it ultimately comes down to the ingredients. Also, you'd want to be sure to keep it free of bacteria and discontinue use it it became contaminated. And, obviously discontinue use if it makes your skin itch, burn, breakout, etc. I know I'm not Jen 😂, but I hope it helps to have another perspective/opinion mixed with my experience 🤓🤓🤓. As a side note I went through a period when my skin was so dry and irritated (from medications and being quite ill), that I used 100% aloe water as a toner type product. It was very soothing on my skin, in a time where I could hardly put anything on my face (I could Bioderma's Sensibio Micellar Water, the aloe water, and a pure oil, as even all the other gentlest things would burn). I never tried rose water at that time, and didn't own the Fresh Rose Water Toner, so I'm not sure if that would have worked then or not. However, I do have decently sensitive facial skin typically these days. Now I'm done with my book 😂😂😂

Korean skincare is just heavily promoted. Plus you can expect quality in Japanese products since it is ingrained in their culture, even work.

Aww I'm so sorry you're dealing with that! The two things I have used for dandruff treatment is Head and Shoulders and a few drops of tea tree oil mixed in with my shampoo. Hope that helps my sweet! ❤️

I use the neutrogena T-gel shampoo (for my extreme days), or for most days The Body Shop ginger shampoo! Both have really improved my scalp over the past couple years and now only very occasionally will it be itchy and flaky, whereas before it was multiple times a day. Hope this helps!
