The problem was the "parents" treated him like an outsider because he was a leftover from a previous relationship of the Mother's. @Kyle Whitehead It strongly depends on the family and their culture and society. In my family for instance, it's the boys that get the attention whether they are younger or older. In families with twins, it seems that twins usually get the most attention regardless of gender because many consider conceiving twins some sort of miracle. The parents here are just shooting themselves in the foot; Jared doesn't get as much attention because he's well-behaved. I'm not sure if it was a mistake, but saying to his mum that he will finally have a chance to talk to her "without having to interrupt the girls" rather than "without the girls interrupting" seems to indicate that he's quite sensitive and kind. On the flipside, the little girls get more attention but it constantly reinforces their bad behaviour. The parents just really aren't attuned to their children, and like many parents, forget that their elder children are still children and should be treated as such.

I can relate so much. As a second child (3 in total) I'm the most obedient. The oldest always got everything because she screamed the hardest (to this day still) and the youngest has a more "I don't care, I do what I want" mindset. It's much lesser now. But I always had to use my stuff even when it needed replacement and tool care of it nicely (it just worn out by time). And my eldest broke it and screams and immediately got it new. Those kind if things. I still suffer under it from time to time. Because I have to be the one to pick it up and continue, because they won t. It's hard sometimes. Being middle child sucks sometimes 😂

I'm 20 years old now but I still remember when I was 10 and it aired on tv, my parents used to watch the show sometimes because they thought the parents in it were so ridiculous. They were like "if you don't think you can educate and bring up children the right way then don't do it", to be honest, I kind of agree, my mother raised me and my twin brother alone because my father was working all the time. But they had planned everything, it was exactly how it was supposed to be. They had agreed that my father would work and that she would take care of us, and it worked because they planned it! In my opinion, having children is not something you just do because that's what you're supposed to do when you grow up. You should ask yourself all the questions, "do I have maternal/paternal instincts?" (because some people don't, and that's perfectly fine); "am I financially stable?"; "do I actually want children or am I only doing this to please my partner?"; "am I ready to put another human being's needs before my own for 20+ years?" Lol sorry for the long rant I just hate when I see people that don't know how to educate their children and that weren't supposed to have them in the first place.

I feel like some parents tend to avoid conflict when kids throw tantrums so the children get used to this and think they can get away with anything as long as they throw a fit.
@thedarkestkinghtstar3 жыл бұрын
It boils down to a battle of will-power honestly in my opinion; like that getting them to sleep in their own beds bit. The kids crave mom and dad's attention to the point even negative attention is better than none. That isn't to say parents are neglectful; just children haven't figured out how to communicate their needs yet and that's where the parent's can help guide them. But it's difficult because children can have very strong will-power aka stubborn. That wears a person down and giving in to that behavior is easier than correcting it in the moment, as uncorrected it'll pose more of an issue in the long run. That's why I like this show honestly. I don't have children but I remember a bit about being a kid. I imagine I was, while not a trouble maker, still stressful for my parents more often than I remember. I imagine my child would be much the same. So, it's important to remember that even though it's difficult, correcting the behavior now would pay off in the long run. I'll make many mistakes but hopefully learn from other parents, or Super Nanny, to keep my cool when things are overwhelming and do the best for them.
@nothanks12393 жыл бұрын

Well, the first one for instance they did not even have their mother, she was working instead.It is not a father's job to clean after the wife's mess, he probably worked very hard like a slave just to pay bills and feed his family.
4 жыл бұрын
@Kashoot Me Well, I kinda think you are underestimating the man's job.When a man comes back from hard work he should not be worried with neverending home tasks.The woman's job is easy af and she still can't take responsibilities.These days men work up to 4 times harder than women and still have to do half the tasks mothers should be doing... and people call that ''women's rights''.My step-father worked up to 100 hours in a week and had to cook while my mother slept after an easy day, this is probably what happened with this family.
@MonAhgasInsomniAroELF4 жыл бұрын
@ Easy af, huh? Then the man should be able to help out a little if it's so easy. You wouldn't last a week doing what a woman who works and raises children does. Or maybe you would, but you would certainty respect women a lot more afterward. Also you realize single men do the (traditionally considered) work of a man and a woman all on their own and they aren't wasting away. I pity the poor woman who will be enslaved in marriage to you. Also, the facts are that children need BOTH their mother and their father to take part in raising and teaching them. It's more healthy for them psychologically to have both parents engaged. Sure, with that many kids the mom should work part time, not full time, but they probably really need the money. These kids would probably have fewer issues if their dad had been more involved. All he has to do is spend some time with the kids just a couple hours a day, and help the mom with a little bit of housework and things would be fine. If he can't do that much then he never should have had kids to begin with. It is his responsibility as a father to be involved with his family and help his wife raise them. Period.

The kids are old enough to be going to school, that’s where they are taught that this behaviour will not be tolerated. They need something to do with their time so when it comes to bedtime they are exhausted and will sleep. Mom needs to work in her office and honestly they should treat the eldest with more respect. They punish him when he isn’t the one who instigated an argument there for you are patting the girls on the back and not punishing them for their actions! No wonder they walk all over everyone.
@az6392 жыл бұрын
(I know this comment is a year old but I felt the need to answer.) I agree. The twins are 4 years old they should be in kindergarten and not at home. Also they are 4 years old they shouldn't be taking naps during the day anymore. The parents are surprised that they don't want to sleep at 8pm but they make them take a 1-2 hour nap every day, of course they are not going to be sleepy especially because it seems like they spend most of the day in the house so they don't have any means to exhaust themselves. My mom and dad stopped with the naps when they noticed that I stayed up for 2 hours almost every night after they put me to bed. The naps stopped and within 2 weeks I asleep before my bedtime every day because I was sleepy.

I hear my parents say that to me a long time ago. Can't be sure if they did say that though. But my dad talked about how his dad use to say that a lot including to a fictional kid from a kid song that almost every Latino have heard and listend to (if you know what Cree Cree is and the song about a "bratty" kid crying because his milk is too hot or too cold for him and gets spanked for that, you get what I'm talking about). My dad told me that whenever the song comes on, my grandpa would joke around and say "bring me the kid and I'll give him a real reason to cry and set him straight." I don't know why but I have a theory for why there are parents who say "it hurts me more". I believe its because they are taught that the only way to scold or discipline your kid is by hitting them and the parents really don't want to do that because they themselves have been hit. They are use to it as the norm and don't want to come off as abusive but have no choice. The parents don't know what to do and how to be the boss and strict but also don't know not come off as the bad guy. So they just spank like they are taught to do and tell them that it hurts them more. It hurts the parents that they have to hurt them and be the bad guy.

Also you should react to “my cat from hell” it’s really good.

My older sister was the "brat", if you will. So much so, that one year she gave away all my and my little sister's Barbie dolls, saying she gave hers away and thought the other two sets were hers as well. And when she was 15, she told the entire family she felt like she'd been kidnapped, was an only child forced to live with three kids not related to her, and basically didn't want to be with the family at all. My Mom cried after Cathy went to bed. My older sister also refused to eat, but not because of her weight (which was naturally skinny), She did it to frustrate my parents. So, my mom finally got sick of it and told her she was forbidden to eat outside of school or the house. She couldn't eat over someone's house, at the movies, or anything. She had to eat breakfast, the teachers had to make sure she ate a packed lunch provided for her, and she was expected home for dinner every night. And she was forced to sit and eat the dinner she was given, even if it got cold and Mom had to sit with her all night. Mom said if she refused to obey, Mom would have Cathy admitted to an insane asylum for her disturbing behavior. Within six months, Cathy was eating normally again and allowed to start eating outside the home and school. My Mom admits that was the toughest thing she ever did, as she knew Cathy was sick and wasting away just because she was mad at them for whatever reason. She didn't want to hospitalize Cathy, but she couldn't think of anything else to do for her. If you wonder were Dad was in all this: he was working second and third shift jobs (when he wasn't working for IBM), and suffering from a heart condition. Mom sometimes worked if we needed extra money, but she and Dad had discussed things when they married and Mom had giving up her nurse's training in order to stay at home with the kids, voluntarily. My Dad would have done it, but it was deemed the better plan for him to work, since Mom had dyscalculia (dyslexia with numbers and problem solving difficulties) and most jobs available to her involved numbers. Also, Dad had higher education, trade school, and Mom didn't (she had only just started nursing school), so education wise, he was the better choice to find work that paid enough to cover four kids.

Watching these shows now ignite a specific collection of memories in my head, my parents would of never let this stuff slide with me or my older siblings. My younger siblings on the other hand? There was a few similarities I noticed, more specifically my younger sister but for the most part my parents became super lax on their parenting when they rolled around. It became more up to me and my other two older siblings (when they were around) to pretty much raise them at some points. I remember when I was younger feeling that tingle of fear whenever I saw my dads back straighten up slightly if we were being too loud and knowing to knock it off quick. Or the sound of a cupboard being closed just a smidge louder by my mother that would indicate the fuse dropping quick. You learned to notice the changes in their behavior because pushing buttons and testing limits usually didn’t end up being very fun in the end. Good thing I plan on never having kids of my own, I’ve lost all my patience I used to possess when I was younger.

Parenting is about having a connection to your child. When there is a disconnect between parent and child there will be discord. This mother is completely disconnected from her children. She neglects them all day while she is trying to work, when all the children want is her attention and some stimulation. by the time she is done working she is probably so exhausted from juggling both parenting and a job she has nothing left to give. She should work out of the home or quit her job and give her kids her full attention. That way she will actually appreciate her kids
