Glad you enjoy South African food. I ate there as well, and I can promise you the food in South Africa is even better. Most of the food they serve there, for example the lamb and vegetable dishes, are from the Afrikaans culture in SA. Each culture in SA has unique dishes they are known for. When we grill meat, we do it over low flames and call it braaivleis. Braai is a verb and a noun. The wine in SA originated from the fleeing French Huguenots that landed at the Cape. The Afrikaans culture is well known for many main dishes, side dishes and deserts. Because we have a lot of farms, South African eat many vegetables and we enjoy different kinds of meat, e.g. pork, chicken, beef, mutton and seafood. In Afrikaans(SA) if you enjoy food or you are having a great time, it is " lekker".

Hola Jiyeoncita, I discovered your channel a few weeks ago and now I'm going back catching up on the older ones. You have a great personality and I forsee your channel growing huge, keep up with the excellent content and your hard work will pay off, I'm sure of this. I particularly like the use of Korean, English and a bit of Spanish to mix and spice things up. And HUGE compliments to your Editor, she does an excellent job with a fun style, I can notice she knows you well and complements you superbly. Cheers!

You have no idea how much this comment meant to me. No words can describe how thankful I am. This comment made my day really! I will try to use Korean, English and a bit of Spanish jaja from now on. Thought it was better to use English mostly for you all but I was wrong! Thank you so much! and YESSSSS my editor and my best friend at the same time. I have no idea how thankful I am to her too. She was actually the one who persuaded me to start doing KZbin. jeje If you have any suggestions and ideas please always let me know! I will try my best to show you guys great content every Thursday :) Thank you so much.

@@JiyeonTV_jiyeoncita Hi, I will definitely keep following and providing feedback. Actually I work for a KZbin focused production company in Miami Florida helping youtubers monetizing their channels through sponsorships, merchandising and other alternative ways besides the integrated ads, when your channel grows a bit more I would like to chat with you about it. It's part of my job to scout up and coming talent, and like I said I see huge potential in your channel. People that are into Korean culture through kdramas, kpop, and tv shows are used to subtitles so partial spoken Korean IS part of the attraction to you, to your videos and consequently to your channel. And because you can mix in fluent English at any time it just makes your content more relatable and great to a foreigner. I just saw your birthday video and laughed out loud when you told your friend "Aren't you a fat version of Steve Jobs" lol. Is Ara the Editor?

We have what's known as Karoo Lamb in South Africa, which is offered a Protected Origin Food (similar to Champagne (which can only be made in the Champagne region of France) or Roquefort cheese). It has to comply with a strict set of rules as to where it is raised, how it is raised, how it is slaughtered and even what it is fed. It is so different from standard lamb and/or mutton that you will be able to immediately be able to tell the difference. Some other South African foods to try are: Bobotie, Boerewors, Biltong and Droewors, Bunny Chow, Waterblommetjie Bredie, Braai, Koeksisters, Milk Tart, Malva Pudding, Pickled Fish (it sounds soooo much worse than it is. It's pretty much fried fish in a curry and vinegar sauce) and Durban Curry, just to name a few

It's quite authentic, like lamb I don't usually make on the braai but yeah usually you go to a braai you get a cut of meet like that but you should of got the sausage it's called borewors, steak or chicken (peri peri 😍) that's more like the usual thing with like pap and chakalaka, that's very authentic if you do go there again I suggest trying that 😉
@JiyeonTV_jiyeoncita3 жыл бұрын
Awwwwww I love this type of comment! Thank you so much 💛 just screenshot it. Haha. Dangggg why didn’t I order the sausage! Next time I go there I will deff try the ones you just mentioned. Can’t wait to try them!

South africa is a rainbow nation and a secular country. Here in durban alot of indians don't eat beef and Muslims don't eat pork so lamb is definitely a must have. South african lamb and mutton is really good here cos is local. You definitely should try south african curry is really good and totally different from south korean curry.
