Very nice Mini Demo - Just to remind us of the capabilities of this excellent little synth. Short, sweet and to the point. Great upload!

This is still a great-sounding synth but Korg did little advertising after its introduction in 2013, and it was overshadowed by the reintroduction of the Korg MS-20. Other low-priced analog synths also were intro-ed around this time and it was where most musician attention was directed. Korg never updated it (it needed aftertouch) and its price was always too high compared to the competition.

Duuuuuude! My fav synth of all time! Had to chance to buy iy once and blew it. Nowhere to be found nowadays. I mean who in his right mind will sell this gem? Awesome playing also, you showed all the might of this beast.

Thank you 🙏 borrowed it from a friend and had it here for a couple of hours so i thought i should make a short video :)🎹

i've have one in silver, if you are close to cardiff. Thinking of selling it.

I owned the black edition and loved, loved loved loved the sound of this magnificent beast. But I sold because the keybed is atrociously bad. Like I mean bad bad. There's a special place in hades for the lead product officer who decided to do such a terrible evil decision to put that keybed into this otherwise legendary synth.
@NicolasMelis9 ай бұрын
@@jamestillman5247 yes!! The keybed is not very good :)
@djkanyon9 ай бұрын
@@jamestillman5247 i always wondered why they never made a module version of it, but it seems it was not the time for modules yet and Korg is notorious for not making a modules even when ppl beg for it (monologue\opsix etc.)

Good synth with a fair bit of aliasing depending on what waveforms used also reverb was average, they could have brought out a better model but they moved onto other models.

They just announced the King Korg Neo (in the same form factor as the OPSix and Wavestate).

@ptkelly80 yes saw it this morning :)

Good point. Aliasing is a thing that doesn't get talked about enough. I've had the same annoyance with my former Nord Lead 2. It just ran into a brick wall at certain frequencies. The Kingkorg seems like a good bread&butter-synth, would probably befenit from proper external effects. Put a few effect pedals after it, to warm it up and get some grit out of it and you can have yourself a great powerhouse!

I once played one of these at guitar center . But for me it sounds harsh. With no body, thin. And the videos on youtube show the same. Why is that? Even my wife at the store ran out and told me : that keyboard sounds awful.I’ll be outside waiting for you
@jesuscuadrado29209 ай бұрын
I think the reason could be your lack of skills to program a synth.
@DanielOrtiz-fm5lq9 ай бұрын
@@jesuscuadrado2920 well,actually that is not the reason. It sounds thin ,harsh (aliasing effect) fake analog. My digital synths have more body and fatness than the king korg.Oh And by the way:I ‘ve been in math,physics, electrical and electronics engineering like for 32 years and i know how to generate, modify and process audio signals. Thus :I know how to tweek a synth.
@jesuscuadrado29209 ай бұрын
@@DanielOrtiz-fm5lq You played "once", so you don't really know this synth. I've been playing and programming it for 5 years and I can assure you that it sounds as aggressive or as soft as you want (but, of course, you have to know how to program it). I've also owned synthesizers of all types, prices, and conditions over the last 40 years (digital and analog), so I know that almost any synthesizer can sound great if you know it and know how to program it. I own now other synthesizers that I like better than the KingKorg, but it doesn't lack "body" or anything like that. I think you need to know him more. You are simply judging something you don't know.
@DanielOrtiz-fm5lq9 ай бұрын
@@jesuscuadrado2920 well.I understand that many synths are sought after not because of its traditional analog sound, but for the sweet,thin sound .like the ppg . And it is ok.all sound (timbre) are important in the sonorous gamut. But the reason Im talking about this synth is because I’ve played korg keyboards many times and they’ve always surprised me , but the king korg is the exception ti the rule. The first korg synth i played was a dw8000 ,a very good one.

@@DanielOrtiz-fm5lqI prefer to listen with my ears and owning one I know how good this sounds, particularly on lead sounds. Listen to Mex comparing this with a Oberheim OB-X8 and you will see what I mean. Just a shame Korg didn’t update the user interface, give it a better keyboard with aftertouch and price it right.
