Thanks man! Using a 61 key board for a gig I’m doing tonight and didn’t want to bring a full 88 key board I usually use so I needed to figure it out real quick! This was perfect!!!

13:31 Hi, try pushing that F3 box and keep your finger still there and then press with your other hand the key you want to change, I discovered that trick in Krome but should work in Nautilus?, so instead of pressing Enter just do it from the LCD display, it is a really helpfull trick, it also works for other sections, try if it works in Nautilus.

This really helped and was straight forward. I already picked up on this feature from another YT but it never hurts to watch someone else's presentation. Have been following all your videos on this Nautilus. Have noticed how much easier it is to navigate in than my Krome EX. Definitely a good investment especially getting the new AT.

Thanks Julius! Thanks to you, I just layered my favorite synth over a piano sound that has my favorite drum track on it. Pulled down the piano volume a lot and now it's exactly what I want for now! It's nice to know I can add layers as needed too. You are such a help, thankyou for all you do :)

Hey Jules, how are things coming on your Nautilus journey?
@julessmudge35332 жыл бұрын
@@JuliusDeBerryJr HIya Julius! Been doing a lot of experimentation with all the engine sounds and saving them into favorites so I have easy access. There are soo many oh gosh, don't know whether I can use them all. Layered a few more sounds, got up to 4 layers so far. Not too good on mixing the the volumes of each though, and have scrapped a few as well lol Nevertheless I love my Nautilus to bits!
@JuliusDeBerryJr2 жыл бұрын
What do you mean not too good at mixing the volumes? Like with how to to do it? Or how to make them blend together well?
@julessmudge35332 жыл бұрын
@@JuliusDeBerryJr well, I'm not good at hearing how to stop the strings being too loud over piano, or synth with other sounds, drums too loud etc. Bit of both really, not sure where to change everything but have used pink sliders. I sometimes make it sound like a hot muddled mess and delete to start again. I will get there eventually, just not had the editing experience over many technology changes😒

@@julessmudge3533 you can put a compressor on the parts that are too loud in IFX.

Thanks, that was very helpful! Is there a way to set a "global" split where you can have a fixed left side for all sounds (similar to the PA series)? Also, is there an option to exclude the left side from expression pedal?
@JuliusDeBerryJr3 ай бұрын
No I don't believe that is possible.

Good to know about that delay issue @14:20 and how the touchscreen isn't very responsive. My Nautilus should arrive tmrw and I'd be thinking it was defective. Still worth it for those great sounds and features.
@JuliusDeBerryJr Жыл бұрын
I think the touch screen is pretty responsive overall. Watch some of the more recent videos and be sure to update to the latest OS. This was a very early video for me with the Nautilus and may have had something to do with the delay and it the screen (that and I kinda have fat fingertips) You will enjoy it! Congrats! A nice clear video thank you. I have a question though: how do you assign the sustain peddle to a specific part (i.e. upper or lower voice) when using the quick split? Thanks again for this tutorial, I found it very easy to understand.
@JuliusDeBerryJr Жыл бұрын
You don't have access to specifics with the pedals... Or really anything else while in the quick split/layer menu. You have to do it once you are in the regular editing screens.

Could you explain, why a few programs, not all, (e.g. 1:17 min in this video, Nautilus Grand) show the same piano 2 x below each other on the main screen (e.g. 2 x SGX-2 / German D Full)??? I found nothing in the Nautilus User Guide, etc. It looks like kind of a layer, but of course it is not. What does this mean and what is the purpose of this feature? I have no idea why I see this duplicate sound/instrument. Thank you so much for your great (!) content! It helps me so much on my new Nautilus! Kindest Regards from Vienna to USA!

hey Julius, thnx for this video and how to split/layer things on nautilus great job but i have a follow up question about splitting. I would like to have multi instruments on full range 88 keys. for example : lower keys piano with overlay strings ( c2) ,then, 1 section above (until c3) i want brass,guitar all the way up to C4, further up xylophone with piano old grand (to c5) and so on and on....how can i make this work ? is it still the same way like you did in this video or is there another way to do this?? Would like to do "mama mia Abba" but dont want to press de screen for another sound ( time is limited to do this). Cab you help me further out with this ( or someone else who has done this ) Thanks in advance

Ok, thanks to your video I've created a 2 layer split and saved it. But now I'd like to edit it and change the split point. There doesn't seem to be a way to edit an existing split in a combi. The only option I see is to do another "quick split", which adds another program, which is not what I want. Is there a magic key somewhere that allows you to get back to the split menu?
@JuliusDeBerryJr3 ай бұрын
Not the quick split menu. But now you have to go into the conbi and edit the split point with that
@ST-ry7lr3 ай бұрын
@@JuliusDeBerryJr I have saved this as a Combi. When I go into the Combi menu, the new combination is there, but I do not see any way to get to the screen where I can edit the split point. The only option is "quick split", but that just adds another program. I just want to get back to the screen to change the split point I originally set. Is that impossible to do on the Nautilus?
@JuliusDeBerryJr3 ай бұрын
@ST-ry7lr no, as I said, I don't believe you can get back to the quick edit itself. You have to go into the conbi edit. You need to get into the midi filter/zones screen. And then edit the zones for the combi. I don't have a nautilus in front of me. But if you go to the pages/menu screen, you will see an option that is worded similarly to what I posted. Look for midi filter/zones and then the keyboard zone.
@ST-ry7lr3 ай бұрын
@@JuliusDeBerryJr Ok, I see the different screen where you can change the split points. Not at all intuitive. The first screen was perfect, why on earth not just let you go back to it? Thanks for your assistance, I've subscribed. This is a pretty popular synth, but other than your channel, not a lot of good information outside of just doing the basics.
@JuliusDeBerryJr3 ай бұрын
@ST-ry7lr I believe I have another video that shows how to use that part. With that said, it's kinda second nature once you have done it. The whole purpose of quick split is for it to be quick. Lol maybe they need a quick edit. 😅😅😅😅

Well, I went to make my first combi yesterday. I had tweaked a piano sound to where I wanted it, and I wanted a split where the top X keys were the piano. Creating it was easy. HOWEVER, 1) I could not find a way to get back to that edit page so I could easily re-do the split point, and 2) when I increased the octave of the organ timbre and then played keys in the range of the organ sound, it started giving me piano sound. Like, it IGNORED my split point. To me this seems like a bug. If I'm editing the octave of the lower timbre it should never give me the higher timbre while I am playing within the range of the lower one. I didn't want to edit the range at that point, I just wanted it to have a higher octave on the organ.
