Leigh please keep the tuition coming. I was with you in the genos club but am waiting for delivery of the pa5x. I had the pa5x a couple of months ago but couldn’t get on with it because there was no information available. Also I found a complete lack of ballroom and schlager styles but am confident these styles will be available in the future. In the last couple of months I’ve gone from genos to pa5x to genos and now back to pa5x. I’m sure with the help of your videos I’ll get on with the pa5x more confidently. Your work is very much appreciated. Thankyou.

Oh dear Peter. I’m sorry to say you’re going to regret changing to Pa5x. It’s a nightmare to use and I got rid of mine asap. It was full of bugs and is horrible to play compared to Genos. I would never recommend anyone moves from Genos to Pa5x.

Hi Leigh, Is there a way to save the live controls for startup? I have learned so much from you. Thanks! Unfortunately I am unable to find information when I need it just before a show. Do you ever respond to questions via email or book private sessions? I have the 88 Pa5X - love the feel and quality of sounds but mostly use it live with left hand bass, a drummer and singers.

Hi Leigh, is it possible to have a voice on one track different from all other tracks so that if you wanted to add something when you edit for a video like a voice effect you can do just one track not the entire keyboard and voice. I am talking about using video and audio editing software. Thank you. Good Explanation really.

Great video! However, listening to the first part of the video, the RH Melody was so overwhelming, I could not hear what was changing. FYI

@@LeighWilbraham To my (tin) ear, all I could hear in the first part was the melody. You were pressing buttons, but I couldn't hear any difference. Then, later, when you played just the Styles, I figured out what was going on.

Thanks for the video. Is there a way other than using the main volume to adjust the volume on the line outs? I am trying to record trough line outs to my camera but I have to bring the main volume too low and as a result I can not even hear what I am playing. Thanks 🙏

The line out needs to go to a mixer and then to your camera as the line level is low.

Hello I have been trying to download the sax sound you had on one of your vidoes on you tube (free soundpack for pa4x) . i tried on korg world club and can not find that file can you please giude me ?and also the style called incredible ballad and no luck ?

All very nice, looks a fabulous instrument, but the Yamaha Genos has a lot of these features, so it's not a lot new from Korg. Yes, they go to incredible lengths to give you a lot of probably unneccessary options, but Yamaha have had a lot of these for years. I appreciate that all opinions are subjective, this is just mine. Question... How long does it take to boot up?? I recently had a Korg Nautilus and it took 2 and a half minutes to boot up ( timed it on a stopwatch )

45 seconds to boot up for the 5X. The Genos is shorter, but it doesn't load the user samples, so you have to wait for a while before you can play your custom sounds. Deal breaker.

@@FMSoundtracks The Genos has 1.8GB (3GB when compressed) of user sample space. If I wanted to add my own samples into the Genos, I can use Yamaha's Expansion Manager to make new sounds and convert SF2 files into Yamaha's proprietary sound format. This allows me to make a sound from oscillator level (easily doable on the PA5X without the need of a computer) and bring it in (the patch and all the related wave data) via an expansion pack. The problem is, when the Genos boots, it only loads the internal 4GB worth of preset wave data and not the custom wave forms I put in. This makes it look like it loads faster than the competition, when in reality, it doesn't load the user wave forms during boot up. This means, I have to wait another minute to play the custom sounds that I put into the keyboard. Not professional at all. The PA4X and 5X may take a bit longer to boot depending on the samples I may have added, but it loads all of them when it boots up.

I have the Genos with all the 3GB totally full, and immediatly after the boot I can play every expansion voice without problem, but I was expecting it: the Genos memory for user wave is a fast-reading NAND flash directly written (without the needing to load samples into RAM) and not a Storage memory. Am I missing something?

korg pa5x live control function mic harmony up down does it have a very good and useful one, that ketron sd9 has for live use the third up and down when singing up down harmony does pa5x have that option thanks

I have another question for you :) I have a pa4x oriental 76 keys . Is it possible to create more than 3 user style menu and also more than user style menu numbers in its menu ? what i mean is for example when you try to add sounds and or styles to the available choices once they are all full then u got no other empty spot can you create more slots on the menu ?

Sir, In the case of Sound Quality and Use-ability of Sampled-instrument,,,,iS THERE? really a very big or far Difference from PA4x. I mean,When a Good sequence on Both of them are equally programmed? Yez I agree its Better SOUNDING on SOLO samples PRESETS! ,, Coz I plan to JUST ADD one different Cheaoer Brand LIKE new Yamaha SX900 To My Existing kORG PA 600..[to have a wider Selection too} Rather than Sell my KORG Just to buy a 4Kplus! new-investment!... I NEED A Better AdVice 'coz I Record songs to DAWs more than Performing! [Em Talking of" PRICE-Practicality" VALUE against The Idea of adding another Brand to my KORG PA 600 plus a YAMAHA psr sx 900 -Versus investing a new PA 5X [ i need some MUSICIAN-Producers OPINIONs}Thanks 4 Undrstnding!
