@@RedDesertViolin. Hi , from across the pond. I play traditional music, a lot of Scottish, all self taught. The part C of “Trip to Pakistan “ uses some form of shuffle bowing which is completely alien to me. Would this metronome help me , or do I need a lobotomy !! Great video.

You'll love it. I'm happy the video helped. I recently reviewed the Kliq metronome....and I STILL love the Korg more. The only thing I wish Korg would add is a "MEMORY" feature so it will bring back the last setting you used when you turned it off. Does the new model have that yet??? I'd love to know. Like, if you had the TUNER set to play B-flat....will it open that function when you turn it back on?

Excellent review! I saw an official video from Korg advertising the TM-60, but to my incredible annoyance they put some loud music over the video so there was no actual audio of the device! Literally *ALL* I needed to find out was how loud the built-in speaker is, since my cheap digital tuners have really quiet metronome speakers that can barely be heard in many practice situations.

Yes, I wish the speaker was louder, but at least it is ON THE FRONT! (and an aux jack allows you to plug it into any external speaker)

And they are not terribly expensive. Good luck. (my old metronome is discontinued...but there are several like it, that cost maybe $50. The MATRIX MR-800 is about $40, and has a woodblock tone....and takes a 9 volt) LET ME KNOW if you get it an like it!

Great review. I m tempted by this product, but I’ve just broken my Korg MA-2 by knocking it off my music stand. It dropped about 3 feet onto a hard floor and although unmarked it isn’t working. This looks just as fragile. Would love to see a metronome that had a rubberised coating. A choice of sound for the beats beyond a beep would be good too. The beep can get annoying. The headphone out is a good feature.
@RedDesertViolin3 жыл бұрын
John, I got a good tip the other day. A colleague said he tells his students to buy any metronome that takes a 9volt battery, because they tend to be louder, and less fragile. This is a guy who really knows his stuff.....so...maybe try looking at metronomes that take a 9 volt. YES, I agree....these Korgs are a little bit fragile. But honestly....MOST metronomes won't survive a 3 foot fall onto a hard floor. Rubberized shell is a freaking FANTASTIC idea.......why don't you write to Shar with that idea?

Have you explored the Dr. Beat metronomes? I have wanted a Dr. Beat for the longest time....but my Korg always did what I needed so I can't justify the purchase! But Dr. Beat is not that pricey from what I remember. (more than Korg, but not terrible)
@RichardDCook4 жыл бұрын
@@RedDesertViolin I haven't been able to get a clear answer about whether the Dr Beat can do that. I even asked a rep of theirs at the NAMM Show and he didn't know what I was talking about. There is a KZbin video by a guy who uses a drum machine for a metronome, that's far more expensive but it might be the only way to go. (For people that don't know, I'm talking about 2+2+2+2+3+2+2 and rhythms like that, where the 3 isn't 3 in the space of 2, but rather the 2's and 3's are made up of 2 and 3 separate equal-value notes.)
