Around 4:30 I forgot to specifically mention having Slide enabled for ALL steps is part of the trick to get the consistent 4 pulse beats per step, this is demonstrated in the setup at 0:25. Cheers ⚡

This is SOOOO good. It feels like you're creating some sounds using some functions in ways that weren't obvious... That said, when I try to replicate what you're doing, I find that the sounds really depends on finding the sweet spot with that LFO rate (and that knob isn't super-precise!). I saw that you mentioned "locking" that rate in your setup, but at around 2:04 you "reset" the pulse by deactivating a slide step, and then... Shortly after that (around 2:15) you dial down the LFO to lengthen the pulse, but somehow recapture the initial pulse setting a second or two later by cranking the LFO rate back up to the max setting, too--mine just "distorts"/chatters when I try it. I feel like I'm missing something important that you did there. I'm confoozed!!! I know these are hyper-specific questions...it's a really cool exploration of the interaction of those functions! In any case, really cool clips--I'm hooked.

Glad you liked it! Check out 0:36 where I hold FUNC while turning the RATE dial, this locks the LFO to TEMPO at different rates. What I'm doing at 2:14 is holding down FUNC while I quickly 'snap' the RATE dial to the right to lock it back in to 4 LFO beats per step, or "rt.1.4" I try to snap it on-beat so it will match up correctly with the drums, but you can hear when it's off even without a drum track. It's easy to learn with a little bit of practice! Cheers ⚡

@@Tetrad10 ooohhh...good content and responsive, too--love it! I only just became aware of that "steps per beat" setting (FUNC+tempo knob), but yes, I saw that and made the adjustment. I think the key is the quick "snap" and also doing it on-beat. Need more practice! Anyhow, thanks for your time and effort!

Nice. Very useful stuff. but you didn't explain how you're syncing the two devices... or are they just running independently and hoping for the best (can't see any cables)?

That's right, there is no auto-sync when the volca bass is running at a lower tempo. I need to trigger the start in time with the main sequence and make sure the tempo division will work with my main tempo to use this approach. It takes a little practice to kick off the volca bass at the right time, but easy to learn. Something that helps is listening to the monitor source and not the loop-back audio, when using a computer to record the output. Cheers ⚡
