Good call korg. Timing these videos with the deliveries of the wavestates and a bunch of us new owners, is great.

"... wavesequencing synthesizers of the past, like the Korg Wavestation, and the Korg Wavestation ..." This is a great instrument, guys. Looking forward to loading my own samples eventually. Keep up the good work and the content flowing!

I've had my Wavestate for a while now, and when compared to my other synths, it really is an exceptional machine. Its architecture is phenomenally flexible and deep. If you love exploring architectures (and obtaining unique sounds), then the Wavestate is a dream come true. The user interface too is wonderful.. it is so well thought out. Currently, my only annoyance is that the Korg editor for the Wavestate allows export and import of lane files, but Korg refuses to publish the file format of these lane files.. thus preventing third parties from writing software which could generate and/or manipulate wave sequences in really cool ways.

Been waiting so long to a follow up to the WAVESTATION! The Wavestate is just as evocative.

I love the OpSix, WaveState, and ModWave. Amazing deep synths. Korg seems to actually listens to its customers.

Thank you so much for making these tutorials my very own wavestate just arrived, thank you Korg. I used to own the wavestation SR, this is a welcomed evolution. Such great sound quality.

I just got a WS a week ago. I called it the "magical Mystery Machine" because it sounded awesome but I had NO idea how to "write sequences". (I'm used to the Deluge. I have no history with Wavestation.) THANKS so much for this video! I'm finally starting to wrap my head around the mind-boggling concepts!

Nice Tutorial. Very much needed. It has been a little hard getting my head wrapped around the Wavestate. I'm about 4 days into it now and this Tutorial has helped. Thanks! Korg

At 0:37s, is this the Wavestation VST ? I have the Korg Collection v2 and it doesn't look as fancy as this.

Just got mine too, after backordered for 3 months. This is very helpful, for understanding, what is a powerful synth, that is complicated and has many options to learn. Fortunately it has a lot of great presets to keep me entertained, while I am learning how it works. My only concern so far, is that it has crashed/frozen up, a few times, and required me to unplug it, to get it running again. I am hoping that a software update will fix this, and that I do not have a defective unit. I would be sad, if my fun new toy was buggy/unreliable.

sbmphr , thanks for the reply. I suspected it might be something like that. Hope they can fix it with an update. Would be nice to be able to leave it connected, for midi over usb, and librarian use.

I haven’t done any creating new patches but have been playing around in presets for the past few months since getting mine, and it hasn’t crashed once. So... maybe yours is buggy. Might send it back before the warranty expires just to have it checked out.. I

This is great! Is there a way to import sounds to the Wavestate, either through mic, SD card or usb? thanks
@fxpert74594 жыл бұрын
No, you can't load or record your own samples.
@keithmurray92413 жыл бұрын
Agreed with the’no’ response, but there are HUNDREDS of samples buried in this thing.. and you can mix/match them in so many customized ways.. it’s pretty deep. That said.. it would be nice if they had allowed for a few user samples to be loadable. Probably a price issue.

Apparently now you can load them from pc to the WS

I got my own unit. I really love the concept and all but just one thing is annoying me, why there is no simple notes sequencer as on the Minilogue XD, even in "Single Multisample" mode. It's not efficient in live situation when you need to use your hands to do something else. I really need to bye an external sequencer to keep my hands free. This is the bad point of this synth, so far.

Amazing synth, but unfortunately the Wavestate librarian doesn't work under the current version of Windows 10 V2004 (confirmed by the Korg support). Waiting since July, we are now end of October and still no solution. It is therefore not possible to update the firmware or to import new performances or sounds. Very frustrating.
@keithmurray92413 жыл бұрын
It’s hardware won’t allow user samples to be imported. It’s ROM type situation.. no EEprom or RAM.. but it’s still incredibly flexible with the hundreds of samples buried in it

I use wavestate librarion/editor and sample builder on both my Win 10 and Win 7 PCs. Works great! I just got my wavestate, so maybe there have been some updates in the last year.

Analog synthesis 👍🏽! But this is like algebra X trigonometry + physics. If someone writes a "Wavestate for Dummies" I will buy the first copy! That tiny screen is worse than my Mac Classic circa 1989... 😵😵😵

It's a bit frustrating to watch these because the close-up angle camera is from the right side, and the person giving the tutorial is right handed, so a lot of the time when they reach their hand up to manipulate something, all we see is the back of their hand....

Here I am looking a for basics tutorial because the user guide is messy and this guy is waffling on about the sort of stuff you'd address after the basics have been covered. Pt2 better be better.

This is not a tutorial, its some guy from Korg having fun, he is showing the functions, being paid a lot. Not a proper tutorial, very unsatisfied
