Really surprised that your not getting into Korn so far. They created a whole new style of music that opened the door for a lot of metal bands. They are really good live and to me one of the best bands but to each their own.

I don't get why you thought he would? Nothing that he's listened to indicates he'd like their style. He likes real heavy sound and big production with lots of double kicks on the drums. Nu metal isn't really that style

@theAngusmaster1017 жыл бұрын
But if he says he likes double bass kicks and heaviness with huge production why would you expect him to like a band that focuses very heavily on groove? Nu Metal in general seems quite different to the stuff he likes.
@shreykundra77 жыл бұрын
Harambe the Sweet Prince He did like Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit and Disturbed, that's why I recommended Korn. It is however, okay, for him to not like Korn. Sometimes, a certain sound doesn't click to one person, and it can be another's favorite band. The problem is the whole double bass drum fixation reasoning to me. An album can't be shit because it has a "boom back" sound. I feel its pigeonholing your taste as a reviewer, whoever it might be. Don't get me wrong, I'm one of the channel's earliest subscribers, so obviously I'm not against the man, because I do feel he has a good ear for rock and metal - specially for a hip hop guy, but I wish he was more open minded and not just after one type of sound and production quality. There's a lot more to music than 240 bpm.
@darkwing11286 жыл бұрын
Korn’s that band you grew up on and know all the song meanings, and get goosebumps when you listen to their early stuff... and when you run into someone who doesn’t feel the same you feel, you try really hard not to take it to heart and try not getting offended when another person’s opinion is otherwise. He is a lot more into the energy and music then lyrics, that is what i have gathered at least which is fair enough he doesn't have to like something. I think he is losing out on a lot of things because of that but that is his prerogative. Something having great lyrics doesn't always mean it is a good song or fun to listen to but that is kinda the reason hes doing this is to find stuff he might like listening too.

He's right, Nu-Metal was just starting. Korn opened the flood gates and inspired a ton of bands around that period. Grunge was dead and music was so different and eclectic from 95-99. I miss 90s radio and music. Sure there are plenty of bands inspired by 90s music today but you have to search. It will never be the same on the radio again.

I think the disconnect here is Korn is definitely not the power/heavy stuff he's been enjoying so far. That's not a bad thing and not everyone will like everything. It's more of a grungy heavy rock than traditional metal sound. I'll always love them because of their influence on music and myself in the 90's & 00's, but they aren't everyone's cup of tea. there's many bands I'd love to see him check out, but he gets bored fast of almost anything slow at this point... So bands like Deftones or Manson is kinda out. Kinda seems like he just needs to stay in the heavy, high bpm stuff. Again...not a bad thing. People like what they like.

Please give some love to that bassist man!!! Fieldy is the heart and soul of this band. Wow those grooves are luscious boy!!!! and you aren't going to hear that sound anywhere but here. Their sound is so defined that you just can't duplicate it without it being completely obvious. I find this to be their best album of all their albums. I'm just saying man they made this entire album in the 90s with no computers. It's all guitar effects, that's pretty impressing to me. and all their music for that matter.

No kidding, I started off with Pantera, Brujeria and all this heavy bands when they released follow the leaded. I was super high on just heaviness at the time, that they were underwhelming to me, I respect what they do, but again, coming from Darrell's solos, Phil's Vocals, Vinnie's drumming and Rex's bass lines, my eyes were up in the sky looking for something that would top that, eventually discovered death metal, black...so again, Korn didn't fit the mold that I was looking for.
