KORN, PLEASE DO A REQUIEM TOUR WITH MAINLY REQUIEM SONGS!!! PLEASEEEEE IT'S THE BEST ALBUM OF YOURS
@Eyehook7772 жыл бұрын
Been one of Korn's biggest fans ever since the very first week their debut album came out. This only happened once in my life: I saw the CD artwork and HAD TO bring it to the listening area at Blockbuster Music (yeah, you used to be able to preview CDs before you bought them way back in the middle ages). The cover looked so creepy with the shadow looming over the girl on the swing... And of course, this was long before all the bands copied Korn, the into guitars then that lowwww 808 kick drum > Arrrreyouuuu readyyyyyy!!!?? Been hooked ever since! Back then you'd never - NEVVVVERRRR - hear a metal band sing about molestation and abuse, being called a f*ggot, etc.. (and, of course, once all these other bands had Korn open the doors for introspective and deep lyrics like that, soon they were all doing their own cliche' variations of the "pains" they endured growing up.) I don't even have the words to describe just how much Korn has meant to me since that very first week through today and from what I've heard so far, this new album is both raw as f*CK yet polished and sonically beautiful! Munky and Head are the best team and yet so humble and without pretentiousness, they probably don't even realize how magical their mixture is. (Without Fieldy, I can't help but feel sadness even though I know he was a part of the recording, I wish someone would reach out to someone else to just get together to hang out and talk. I think if Fieldy felt how much they wanted him back, it would give him the strength and determination he probably really needs right now. ... But, of course, only they can remedy their family and know what needs to be done. Just me wishing and hoping. Damn, I'm babbling a lot here. One last thing: Has anyone else noticed the subtle differences in Jonathan's voice? It's not just melodies but he's also doing some very cool expressions on certain syllables and harmonies. Almost like having another accent or something. I'm really feeling it and I love knowing he's continually growing and always reaching for different things to do vocally. And what can I say about Ray Luzier!? Anyone who can't hear the incredible level he's propelled that "Korn sound" to just isn't listening! Yes, yes - we all love David's drumming on those 1st albums. But Korn has evolved into something very much bigger and the difference, to me, is this: Ray could emulate and play like David if and when needed but David couldn't possibly do the things Ray is doing on the drums, c'mon! (Not putting him down. Just saying for whatever reason.. whether it's skill, injury, experience, personality, musical diversity and direction, etc.. It's like Rush had a great 1st drummer on their debut album wIth John Rutsey but then they got Neil Peart and it forever changed their sound. One day I hope to meet my favorite band and let them know how much they mean to me. Love these guys!
