The only time I ever felt emotion watching Korra was, "we are bonded forever" and then the avatar theme plays. I cried. This 2-parter was a saving grace. Like, this is exactly how you do an avatar story without it being centered on Aang or the first series lol Korra could've been great, and it just wasn't. For me at least that had nothing to do with it not being Aang and the old crew. It simply failed and poorly executed too many elements compared to the things I liked/thought were done well.
