Der Multi-Instrumentalist Markus Wach legt den Fokus seines musikalischen Schaffens auf traditionelle folkloristische und improvisierte Musik des Nahen Ostens und Zentralasiens. Auf einer Vielzahl an seltenen Saiteninstrumenten spielt er mal meditative Improvisation, mal ein ungehörtes Stück Folklore. Die
zarten Töne eines Wiegenliedes aus unbekannter Ferne im Wechsel mit den Klängen der Steppe. In seinem aktuellen Soloprojekt mischt sich nomadischesLiedgut mit der Musik schamanischer Segen und altorientalischen Improvisationen. Beim Komponieren und Improvisieren zieht Markus seine Inspiration aus Jahrhunderte alten Musiktraditionen. Ein Hauptgedanke seiner Arbeit ist es, fast vergessener Musik und Instrumenten zentrale Rollen in Konzerten zu geben und dadurch zu deren Erhalt beizutragen.
Er spielt eine Reihe seltener traditioneller Musikinstrumente aus der ganzen Welt mit einem großen Schwerpunkt auf Streich- und Zupfinstrumenten. Eines seiner Hauptziele ist es, aussterbende Traditionen verschiedener Musikkulturen am Leben zu erhalten und daraus eine einzigartige musikalische Sprache für seine Kompositionen und Improvisationen zu schaffen. Seit 2014 ist er vorwiegend als Multiinstrumentalist in verschiedenen Weltmusik Ensembles tätig wie „Mala Isbuschka“, „Aramesk“ oder „Sharqstan“ und auch als Solo Künstler konzertant unterwegs. Im Frühjahr 2021 gründete er gemeinsam mit Samira Memarzadeh das Duo „do-nawa“ mit einem Schwerpunkt auf persischer Musik.
Im Jahr 2022 veröffentlichte er das Doppelalbum „Timbres“ auf dem er eine Vielzahl seltener Saiteninstrumente aus der ganzen Welt einspielte um deren besondere Klänge zu konservieren.
Im gleichen Jahr wurde „a somnambule beauty's serpentine traces“ als CD und Vinyl veröffentlicht.
The multi-instrumentalist Markus Wach focuses his musical work on traditional folkloristic and improvised music of the Middle East and Central Asia. On a variety of rare stringed instruments he sometimes plays meditative improvisation, sometimes an unheard piece of folklore. The
delicate tones of a lullaby from an unknown distance alternating with the sounds of the steppe. In his current solo project, nomadic songs mix with the music of shamanic blessings and ancient oriental improvisations. When composing and improvising, Markus draws his inspiration from centuries-old musical traditions. A main idea of ​​his work is to give almost forgotten music and instruments central roles in concerts and thereby contribute to their preservation.
He plays a range of rare traditional musical instruments from around the world with a large emphasis on string and plucked instruments. One of his main goals is to keep the dying traditions of different musical cultures alive and to create a unique musical language for his compositions and improvisations. Since 2014 he has worked primarily as a multi-instrumentalist in various world music ensembles such as “Mala Isbuschka”, “Aramesk” or “Sharqstan” and also performs in concert as a solo artist. In spring 2021, he founded the duo “do-nawa” with Samira Memarzadeh with a focus on Persian music.
