Hey everyone! Remember how I felt bad about scavenging the abandoned villages for materials? Yeah...those days are long gone haha. I decided it is finally time for me to build my wall so that I can defend my base from potential threats and the best solution that I could find to start making a wall was to scavenge for shingle and scrap walls in the abandoned villages! I definitely overfilled my truck past its safe carry capacity but I was able to get enough materials to build a basic wall that I can now start improving!

I don’t know about metal 2 but medal 3 is not destructible by Haybot and greenies. So you should make a wall of metal and make a scrap layer for the esthetic

kosmonaut a few episodes ago: I feel guilty for stealing so I'll give back to the stuff I stole kosmonaut now: so hey guys I just stacked my truck with walls and lights from other people's homes, only their skeletons are left now I really like how you carry stuff physically instead of putting them in chests. it's more immersive.

haha!! wait there were skeletons? I would have taken those as well LOL. Thanks man :) Yeah it's more fun to carry the single unit stack items that way. I also figured it would take me a lot of resources to build chests to get all that stuff back to my base. Didn't want to "waste" the materials. I should definitely build storage chests for that truck though.

Everything about this "base" and truck feels like Scrap Mechanic and fits in so well, I love it. Quite fun watching that truck wheelie and the door come together (also good to remember I'm not the only one that builds things off by one and finds out at the end).

I like the scrap wall idea. I think you could improve it by offsetting the heights of the scrap panels so it is less uniform, adding in random things like the air conditioner units, adding scrap metal and wood pillars so that the wall is not so flat, adding chain link blocks, use a mix of stone and brick at the base of the wall.

Noooo don't remove the scrap wall or fix the doors! You should keep the "scrap" feel of it so of course it won't line up, so you totally did it on purpose! Tip for the wall, build out a horizontal wall from your scrap wall and put it a few blocks off the ground. The bots will have to cut through that horizontal section one row at a time so it will take a long time for them to break through. If you do a vertical wall they will just punch a hole in it and you end up using way more materials.

Tip for you: You can craft scrap stone into stone bricks and you get these amount of blocks but bricks have higher durability

if you experience difficulty driving on top of a hill, always remember you can grab your build with the lift and climb yourself on top. it's much easier than actually driving on an uphill

You totally should have had Kan in a smaller truck trailing behind you like an over-size load truck. XD BTW, there is also a glitch going on with the pistons right now. I noticed it in your video here too. It goes like this: When you drag the settings for the pistons or (seemingly) any object with controllable settings, they don't want to stay at the setting you let the drag-bar go at. I've noticed, however, if you click directly under the setting you want instead of dragging the bar, it tends to remember that setting. I'm not sure why it's doing it, but it started happening with the recent update they released. It's not game breaking, but it sure is annoying. Hope this help literally anyone who suffers this dilemma.

I think it would be cool to use the wall parts to make a really tall wall and only use like concrete or metal for the bottom where the bots can reach. So it looks huge but will also be strong enough to keep bots out.

Since you mistakenly made a controller and need more than one piston plus you need to move a large door, you could've just settle with bearings. you can have them pull the door the same way piston pull it (sideways) by placing bearings in the middle and slowly retract each arm that holding each door (left and right door, two arms) and that will create a sliding door effect. Anyway your final work looks great. Don't worry about other people opinion even mine, they are just opinion. Build it with whatever you have in mind in whatever way you want~

I spend already 2 days restarting maps, just to find this dead-end section, it is such a epic spot to make a base :( Though a minor one, i believe the 'safe' zone of bots spawning around your farm is 250ish blocks across, in worst case (what happened to me when i hate a huge wall around my mechanic shop), they actualy spawn inside the walls.

@@darealkosmo Oil, glue, and component kits are the real pain points. Every other kind of resource you can build a better machine to make collecting it more efficient. I'm alright with the component kits though, gives you a reason to go out... Oil and glue can sod off though. Wiring kits stop being an issue once you're further along, i don't even pick them up anymore.

you can hook up two switches to a xor gate then hook up the xor gate to some pistons and then if you press 1 switch it'll turn on if you press the other why all the first switch is turned on the second switch will turn the Pistons off so you don't need to go out the other side and then turn the switch off if you hook it up to a or gate the first switch will turn it on and the second switch will keep it on so you have to turn off the first witch and the second too much to turn it off so if you just add an xor gate you can easily make a door with two switches

on the plus side, if you use a controller, you don't need to upgrade your pistons they'll get their distance and speed decided by the controller. at least it was like that, maybe they fix that.. I thought it made quite an amusing statement about modern day power tools and machinery and equipment. it's all got the same capabilities and functions, they'll just stop you being able to use them on the cheaper models somehow.

I really hate that you can't weld things attached to the ground. I've had to completely detach my wall from the ground and put it on a lift like 20 times. Mostly because the game keeps glitching out and breaking my gate.
