Kotaku is struggling because they didn't fully embrace video content sooner. Did they hire Tm solely for video content? Makes sense.
@jordanc46956 жыл бұрын
@@mycoinsyourpurse2244 He used to write these fantastic long pieces for Kotaku back in the day, where he would do things like review soccer or talk about his hair-care regime. They're years old now but theres some great articles on kotaku by Tim out there. But yup he's just making these amazing videos for K-Taco now.

I didn't know Ricky Jay was more than an actor I'd seen on Deadwood. Your high praise has inspired me to check him out. Also Tim please know you are my favorite person who talks about games, I'm thankful I found out you exist, and I hope you release a book soon.

This is phenomenal, amazing, and hilarious!!! Well worth my 14 minutes and 21 seconds!! I had a stressful day, and this took my mind away from it! Thanks Tim! On a slightly related note (I'm totally going to be over-analyzing here... but I needed to get these thoughts out on "paper" somewhere...), in mainline Pokemon games, I feel like the constant references to Pokemon make the game into kind of a "singleplayer mmo" without actually acting like all the characters are in an mmo. Everyone's talking about Pokemon -- partially for kids who are playing the game -- but also because that is the plot. In basic and older mmo's, a big part of the plot is that there is a shared world that people are visiting and experiencing together. That gives the world life and character and "realism." In Pokemon, everyone is participating in the same game -- just like an mmo -- except everybody is an npc. And to those npc's, the world *is* reality. And then you can step out of this single-player mmo experience and battle other real people -- adding even more reality to your experience. At least that's how I used to view it back when I played Pokemon. It's not trying to be Draqon Quest. It's merely using the Dragon-Quest-npc format for ulterior purposes and goals. And when you combine that with the attachment you build to your very unique pokemon that seem to behave differently in battle from other pokemon of the same species -- like they're actually unique creatures (a feeling that we now know was born out of the "effort values" that top notch players manipulate) -- well, the personal connection to the Pokemon combined with the singleplayer mmo aspect is probably what draws adults back into it long after they've passed the "target audience age" to which the games overtly cater. There's enough substance there (and strategy in battling) for all ages!

Rogers, you bring a heck of a lot of joy. I only knew Ricky Jay from Deadwood; his death has proven a morbid opportunity to acquaint myself with the career that encouraged his casting on that show, and brought so much joy to you. Looking forward to my first viewing of 52 Assistants.

Funny video that also exposes one of the worst problems with these redundant games. I simply can't play Pokemon anymore until they grow the games up a little. Can we please get one Pokemon game for humans over the age of 5?

I’m routinely looking up to see if you post new videos. One might reasonably tell me, You Idiot Just Subscribe. And as I’m typing this out, I’m coming to realize the error of my ways IN THIS MOMENT.
