Can someone explain Tim's signature outro to someone who's new around these parts?
@kotaku6 жыл бұрын
andymofoincross basically, when i was born, i was a dumb idiot baby who knew nothing. i spoke no words. to communicate i screamed and cried. these tears and exclamations resulted in my mother providing me milk. and so i learned that language created food. years passed; i embodied a lifestyle that presumed language and knowledge comprised one another’s totality. language allows knowledge’s existence within the individual; the knowledge of past families and communities feeds the individual’s capacity for language. i thus realized that food and wisdom allowed one another’s existence. my quest assumed a final mission: to always eat as though hungry, usually while breathing through my mouth, sometimes while not breathing at all. this latter habit convinced a doctor that when i die, that death will most likely result from choking on a food of ironic softness, like a big punchbowl of macaroni and cheese. so what i’m saying is it’s both philosophical and literal

I’m glad you mentioned geocaching. I got into geocaching well before Pokémon GO was a thing. Along with growing up playing the original Pokémon games as well, I just didn’t understand the appeal of Pokémon GO. I gave it a try, but I was disappointed with how boring it quickly became. Pokémon is about being a Pokémon trainer. Although the catchphrase of Pokémon is “Gotta catch ‘em all!”, catching the Pokémon was not the main thrill of the original games. In my opinion, the main thrill of the Pokémon games is the rpg element of training and evolving your Pokémon through battling. Pokémon GO instead relied on it’s candy system which required you to catch multiples of the same Pokémon species. That’s what made me abandon the game entirely. It was monotonous and very reminiscent of mobile Gacha games. When it comes to Pokémon Let’s GO, the Pokémon company has done a good job at slowly introducing the battling element of Pokémon to the Pokemon GO community. The battling and leveling system is VERY hand-holdy. You no longer have to switch-train your weaker Pokémon since you automatically start with an Exp. Share. I understand now why the starting Pokémon have increased stats compared to their wild counterparts. This game was made for the Pokémon GO community. Their main thrill has been the act of catching the Pokémon, not battling with them. The graphics and overworld sprites of the Pokémon look amazing, but this game is not for me.

How does let's go work exactly? Exactly like Go? Do you need to catch literally everything that moves to evolve, power up, etc? Haven't played Pokemon since GBA. Besides Go of course too.
@kainhighwind26 жыл бұрын
Basically. Catch pokemon, your party gains xp. Turn excess pokemon over to Oak, get candies to boost stats. So, you might trade in a Pidgey and get a couple of Quick Candies to upgrade one of your pokemon's Speed stat, for example. You *will* battle special pokemon, like Snorlax, as well as legendaries, like Zapdos and Mewtwo.

so like I have a pretty big question... how do you level your Pokemon? do they add in enough people to face that it balances out not battling wild Pokemon for exp? when I play Pokemon games, I always feel so disappointed beating it with Pokemon at like level 35-40(normally pretty high if you avoid most of the wild Pokemon) and I always grind until they're around at least 60-70 or higher... I feel like this game dosnt really give you that freedom because its takes out well the only way to grind
