8:31 I believe Scar chose Kovu as his successor before Simba took his rightful place as heir, while Scar was still alive and ruling. Kovu is probably just a little older than Kiara, maybe Scar chose him as heir when his mother was pregnant or when Kovu was newborn.

That doesn’t mean Kovu is scar’s son.

Lion king 2 is one of my all time favorite films kovu is a big part of that 😺

I have 2 reasons as to why I think Simba only has Nala as his wife. Firstly, the lion king universe already is very inaccurate to how real lions operate, and is shown even further in the sequel. All prides are mainly supposed to have one male lion and lionesses. Sometimes there are more than 1 male lion and they form a coalition, but that also means they share the lionesses. In the Lion King 2, Simba accepts Kovu not as a part of this coalition but just as a family member, a son in law. Lionesses aren't even supposed to rule a pride, yet Kiara is supposed to be the equivalent of Mufasa and Simba, while Kovu is just like a prince consort. Something like this could never happen in a real life lion pride. Second reason is that it's a Disney movie, so they're not gonna explicitly show smth like thar and instead make it more child friendly (usually). So I believe the other lionesses are simply like their knights/warriors while Simba and Nala are the king and queen, if this makes sense.

Simba couldn't trust Kovu because of his trauma on Mufasas death. Understandable.

3:24 The original Lion King was the only one where Rowan Atkinson voiced Zazu. All the other sequels, tv spinoffs, video games, and remakes have him voiced by either Edward Hibbert, Jeff Bennett, or John Oliver. I guess you could argue that they couldn’t afford to have Rowan Atkinson come back to voice Zazu. However, Rowan Atkinson revealed in an interview that he originally never even wanted to voice Zazu, or do any voiceovers for that matter. So I guess it was just a one time thing. But hey, at least he wasn’t voiced by Awkwafina lol. 28:26 There was actually an alternate version of Zira’s death scene where it would’ve played out almost the same at the final version where Kiara wanted to help Zira up the cliff. But instead of losing her grip, Zira would’ve stared right back at Kiara with creepy grin and said, “No…never!” before she jumped off the cliff and plummeted to her death. This would’ve made her the very first Disney Villain to commit suicide, however the Disney executive thought this scene would’ve been way too dark, especially for direct-to-video sequel, so they decide to edit the scene to make it look like Zira lost her grip and that’s why she was smiling when she fell.

@mazeoross89704 ай бұрын
28:25-28:28 It's from the deleted scene where she committed suicide. Plus, another reason she's smiling is because she knows that she'll be reunited with Scar.

The fact that you didn't know yet in this movie: In Swahili, Zira means 'hate'. Shows how despiteful her character is. Vitani's original name was 'Shetani'. But they change it to Vitani due to 'Shetani' means devil or demon.

You're like the only reactor who seems sympathetic for Nuka, i'm so glad. He's really misunderstood 😔 Edit: Also Zira smiles while she dies because the original scene was a su!cide. She willingly lets go, but they obviously thought that was too dark so they censored it.

How could you not feel bad for Nuka. He just wants his mom's approval 🥹. And tbh, that ending would have been killer to watch as an adult, but I guess not so much as a kid lol

You probably know this already, bu the first Lion king drew inspiration from Hamlet and this one drew inspiration from Romeo and Juliet. That's why the entire story was "us vs them but loooooove will unite the families!" the only difference is they don't die at the end lol.

2 important scenes that never made it thru the final cut because Disney back then thought it will be too dark and send bad messages. First we have Nukas death scene. His real last words: “I’m sorry mother, I tried. I guess I finally got your attention, didn’t I, didn't I?” This makes Zira even more barbaric, in that she didn't take Nuka's last words to heart and realize that she'd just thrown away Nuka's life in her quest to get vengeance on Simba. He didn't hate Kovu for being the chosen one. He hated Kovu because he got all the attention from Zira, completely neglecting Nuka. Only in his last moment he finally got his mother's affection. The other scene is Ziras death. Many have wondered why she smile when falling to her death. After Kiara says "Zira come on! I'll help you!" Then Zira grins and with something between a menacing, evil whisper and a hissing she says "No! Never!" And then she let it go, falling down. Her death was a suicide. She was too loyal to Scar to accept any deal with "the enemy".

Yeah tbh it's probably good that they left those scenes out because that might have scarred me as a child 😂😂

Idk if the songs here are less memorable. They might be but idk I feel like they are better than Lion king 1’s songs. The songs on the first movie might be more memorable cuz that movie is more popular than the sequel and the third one. But other than that. The sequel definitely has better songs.

Something of interest, they had originally planned that Zira would rather fall to death willingly instead of going with Kiara. Instead of her screaming and fighting to stay alive, she begins laughing, let’s go and falls to her death, laughing and smiling. Definitely a better end for her and her arc, but perhaps a bit too dark for children back then.
