There is a deleted scene that shows that Zira willingly falls into her death and denies Kiara's help by answering "Never." They left it out, because they thought it would be too dark for kids, but there's a tiny piece of it left, which is why it seems like Zira is smiling before her fall. They also cut Nuka's line, "Well, I finally got your attention, didn’t I?" from his death-scene. This is one of those sequels that live up to the original, in my opinion. Thanks for this great reaction.

Just like how Disney now tries to claim Nala had a different father to Simba; the logistics simply do not add up in any way that would allow them to have different parents. It's expressly stated in the movie that Kovu was the last cub born before Simba exiled the Outlanders, and since Vitani is only slightly older, both of them must have been born while Scar was king and specifically towards the end of his reign due to them being around the same age range as Kiara who was born after Scar's death. Nuka could possibly have been a child Zira already had, but I mean come on, he has a bunch of Scar's physical features.

Fun fact kiara actually has a lil brother, his name is Kion he’s the leader of a lion guard who basically protects and helps the animals of pride land, but by the time all of this happens he’s not around he’s on a journey to the tree of life pretty far from the pride land because his eye is injured by a snake and the tree of life is the only option that can heal him. He’s back to pride land when he heard that it was attacked by Zira and her colony but he was too late, by the time he’s back Zira had already died and kovu is finally joined the pride. He then gives his title as the leader of the lion guard to vitani and becomes a king of the tree of life alongside queen rani, his girlfriend (well now wife). While kiara became the queen and kovu became the king of pride land.

2 important scenes that never made it thru the final cut because Disney back then thought it will be too dark and send bad messages. First we have Nukas death scene. His real last words: “I’m sorry mother, I tried. I guess I finally got your attention, didn’t I, didn't I?” This makes Zira even more barbaric, in that she didn't take Nuka's last words to heart and realize that she'd just thrown away Nuka's life in her quest to get vengeance on Simba. He didn't hate Kovu for being the chosen one. He hated Kovu because he got all the attention from Zira, completely neglecting Nuka. Only in his last moment he finally got his mother's affection. The other scene is Ziras death. Many have wondered why she smile when falling to her death. After Kiara says "Zira come on! I'll help you!" Then Zira grins and with something between a menacing, evil whisper and a hissing she says "No! Never!" And then she let it go, falling down thinking in her deranged brain she's revenging Scar. Her death was a suicide. She was too loyal to Scar to accept any deal with "the enemy".
@drigerdranzer75143 ай бұрын
27:42 That's still not hallucinations. It is the spirit of Mufasa speaking from the other side. Watch the spin off series the Lion Guard, a 3 season series of going from an irresponsible cub to a great leader. First season is pretty much typical Disney light-hearted stuff but Scar will appear again and from mid season 2 it will build up to a war between the Pride Lands and the Outlands with both rebellion and attempts to assassinate Simba that culminate in the third seasons pilot episode. From there the series take a big turn about character development.

There's a good fan-theory about the reason why Zira was banished If you compare the scenes at the end of the first movie and the beginning of this one - they are DIFFERENT. The cub at the end of the first one is NOT KIARA. Also, when Zira encounters Simba - she pushes Kovu to him, offering Simba to kill him. Why? To have his revenge. Perhaps Zira killed Simba's first cub, to get rid of his successor on her way of taking over pride and making Kovu the next king. That also explains why Simba is SO overprotective.

Although technically it came out after this movie - long after - but there was an animated series called The Lion Guard, set during the time between the start of this movie and the timeskip when they're adults. In that, Kiara had two other lioness cubs as her friends AND a brother as well. Surprisingly though the series as a whole was quite solid. Lions are considered the king of animals because of their symbolism: they are apex predators of their biome, pack animals - for comparison: tigers are solitary - and live in a male dominated society. The male lion's mane is also very crownlike in its distinctiveness. I mean, the whole movie is just basically Romeo and Juliet: the whole eye for an eye thing going back so far that it doesn't matter anymore who started what. And no, Scar was not born evil either.

The "Do you think Scar is up there?" line hits so hard, because the first instinct is to say no, because we saw what he'd done, so naturally why would he be among the other kings? But then the movie keeps going, and we're reminded that the Outlanders are still the same lions they were before they were banished, and whether anyone is ready to acknowledge it or not, Scar meant something to them. All of which is to say yes, I do think Scar is up there. A King who was assassinated by his own subjects is still a king. I don’t count the Lion Guard. Don't @ me.

The Outsiders were lions banished for being loyal to Scar, but we never seen any lionesses get banished in the first movie. Tge onmy things we know of lionesses in the first movie was that they were a part of Mufasa's & Simba's pride in the Pride Lands who were forced to overhunt under Scar's rule to feed the hyenas. The hyenas were the only animals who supported Scar at the time. After Scar was killed by his own hyenas, the lionesses except Simba as their new king.

As a bit of a disappointment of an older brother, I've always related a bit too much to Nuka for my own liking and find it extremely heart-breaking when he dies because he just wanted to do what all of us disappointments want; to make our parents happy with us. That's just one example of the thing the second movie does better than the first; the characters are more fleshed out. The story isn't as solid, the scope isn't as epic, the animation isn't as pretty, but the characters are perhaps more relatable because the story is about reconciliation and forgiveness rather than responsibility, and I think a lot of the music is equally as good as the first one.

So I’m not sure about all the details but there’s a popular theory that Simba and Nala actually had a son named Kopa at the end of the first movie, but Zira killed him and that’s why she and the Outlanders were banished. And with no heir, Simba and Nala had another cub, Kiara.
@SorenAlba543 ай бұрын
I concur, Sophie. This movie doesn’t have the grandeur and the essence of the first film but that’s alright. Heck, even the animation is nowhere near the same as the original. Nevertheless, it’s a pretty solid film of how this story continues. The Outsiders were those who were loyal to Scar during his reign and Zira was, of course, his queen. People tend to believe that Simba is being too hard on Kovu but let’s put ourselves in his position. After his father was killed, he nearly lived his entire life believing that he was the cause by the one person who he thought was the only family he had left until the truth was revealed to him in the most despicable way possible. The Pride Lands was a literal mess when he returned and for that, it took him so much time to restore its former glory. Now that he himself is a father, all he wants is to give his only daughter the life that he nearly lost as a child. With Zira and the others out there, they’re nothing but reminders of a king who abused his power that costed the lives of many without having a ounce of remorse for his actions and with Kovu being the spitting image of his late uncle, it was really pushing the limit. So much so that in the song “Not One of Us”, there were lyrics that said, “Someone once lied to us. Now, we’re not so blind.” If that wasn’t bad enough, before he left, Kovu saw himself as Scar in his reflection in the water where he was standing. Later on, we get to see that he, more or less, broke the trope of antagonists having scars as their mark of their wicked ways when in reality, our scars make us who we are. It shows that we’ve struggled and survived. Therefore, serving as lessons of our experiences. Glad to see that you enjoyed this one, as well P.S. That’s not snow. Those were ashes of the fire that Nuka and Vitani started to enact their plan against her father earlier.

My two favorite lines from this film: 1 - When Rafiki shouts "I hope you know what you are doing!" to Mufasa's spirit. 2 - Kiara's "You will never BE Mufasa!" to Simba. That second one is the type of line that cuts deeper than the speaker actually intended. It's also applicable to the Kingdom Hearts series, specifically _Kingdom Hearts 2_ when you visit the Pridelands for a second time -- Simba may have reclaimed his kingdom but he's haunted by both the legacy of his father and the (in this case literal) ghost of Scar. Your party is able to snap him out of it eventually ... basically, he stops asking worrying about "what would Mufasa do?" and starts deciding "what will Simba do?"

It's thought in fan fiction that Simba and Nala's original son Kopa was killed by Zira in revenge for Scar's death, and that's why she and everyone who supported her were banished. And Zira is one of my favourite villains for one reason: her completely opposing ambition compared to Scar. Scar wanted the throne, and only saw killing Mufasa and Simba as a means to an end. Zira wants to kill Simba and simply sees the throne as a nice bonus prize.

The best sequel! I also hope that you will listen to Zira's song in Russian (And it seems to be in German) Maybe it's because of childhood memories, I usually prefer the original, but this song in Russian is very good for me.

The crocodile scene in this movie is also in Mufasa: The Lion King, except that this time it's Taka who saves Mufasa instead of Kovu asaving Kiara.

Would love a series react to the Lion Guard :3 Its about Kiara's little brother and it fills in some gaps in an interesting way

Well... In the first movie, Disney did all they can to prevent us for realizing that Simba and Nala are brother and sister (have you seen any other alpha male than Mufasa ? Cause Scar wasn't obviously allowed in his private harem). It's obviously not for admitting in the second one that this is a romance between cousins, so of course they won't state in black and white that Kovu is Scar's son, but they aren't fooling anyone. All the youthlings in the banished tribe are Scar's children. But it's right that Scar might have chosen Kovu over his brother and that's an interesting fact. We don't know, but assuming Scar was the elder, that meant he lost the throne to his younger brother (which may have alimented his hatred), and choosing Kovu is like for him to somehow recognize that Mufasa actually was a better king than him. If Scar was the younger bro, then choosing Kovu is the obvious choice (he did for Kovu what his parents didn't do for him), but then, we have one reason less for Scar to hate Mufasa to begin with.

What happened to other male lions ? , It's like Mufasa and Scar were the only and first lions in their wild
@67DaidalosАй бұрын
@@Ahmed-qi7my Well, actually, what's surprising is that Scar was still allowed around them... If I remember well documentaries on lions I could have seen, unlike wolves, were you can have beta or omega males in a pack, a lion alpha male either kills or chase away any potential threat to its dominance, and is the only male allowed in its harem (aside from cubs). And even lions brothers generally splits apart to each found their own females.

This one is one of the most forgotten classic of Disney, but it still holds up pretty well to the first one. But for truly forgotten, there is actually a third one in that trilogy: "The Lion King 1½" (yeah, creative title there). It's centered more on Pumba and Timon and is unlike any movie I have ever seen. I hope you'll give it a try. Also, closing in on 50k subs, you'll probably get there by the end of the year!

Hi, first of all, thank you for the video. Your love your "tiger" at home :-) You asked an interesting question... how can you recognize danger as a kid... see, to kids you have to say: "Don't touch, it hurts!" and not "don't touch, you could die" or "it is dangerous", 'cause they don't understand death and danger yet. You have to use emotions they know. It is not only children, you know... teenagers and young adults still make mistakes, also the same mistakes over and over. Only at the age of 20-25 the brain is ready, built up, to recognize danger/fear. Yes, there are children and teenager with fear, but they can not really understand the consequences, even if they learn it.

I think you should check out The Lion King 1½ (aka The Lion King 3), it's like the first movie all over again, but from Timon and Pumbaa's perspective.

I don't think it is as good as the first one, but it is better than a lot of sequels, especially Disney direct-to-video sequels. 3:52 I've seen a domestic cat do exactly the same thing with a butterfly, duck down and creep up slowly then strike. The butterfly escaped, I don't think the creeping up actually made any difference as butterflies see the world in a different way, but you could see the similarity in hunting between domestic and big cats. 9:21 It couldn't be tigers, they live only in India, Lions only in Africa. I don't know why it's Lions, Hippos are responsible for more human deaths even though they are herbivores.

13:31 Yup I was thinking the same thing 💀 I agree This love story makes more sense the one in the Lion King I was kinda squeezed in couse I guess we can't have a movie without one. Overall the first movie is better but let's be honest The second was not even done with cinema realase in mind and had a much smaller budget... I love it though.
