About that exact same pump a couple years ago and it still works awesome. I only use it a couple times a month for about 2 hours, but it's always a champ. As for the person whose unit melted down, I have read that these pumps do not like sucking Ambient Air pressure for very long. They should be hooked up to a vacuum chamber and quickly be pulling a vacuum, not just running and running trying to evacuate a large space.

I've been using similar pump for a while and it's been fine. Have it outside my shed to keep inside free of oil vapor. Combine it with a cure oven so is only ever running for an hour or so. Messed around with 12v mini pumps for a while but this is much better.

I purchased this pump after looking at your video when you got your, I’ve used it on a few projects and repairs and it works great! My biggest problem with it is the fitting where you connect the hose have 2 kinds of threads that are really hard to find adapters for. Other than that it dose get a bit hot but I also put it on the ciment floor. As for the oil vapor it dose spew quite a bit but I’ve made a hose that connect to the exhaust and evacuate outside.

They are common HVAC and A/C fittings, 1/4 inch flare and 1/2 inch Acme, if you go to Amazon and type in - ac charging hose, you will find the 1/4 inch flare easily. I am looking at a 60 inch hose there now for $11.29, they can be red, yellow or blue, color doesn't matter. You may fine a cheap auto A/C recharge hose at Walmart that uses the Acme fitting. You can cut it and join to whatever you want.

Did you determine what size thread is on the exhaust port when you made your hose? I have a Robinair but the exhaust port looks very similar. I also want to make a vent for outside.

The oil in these pumps is a vacuum pump oil it is based on a similar chemistry to antifreeze/brake fluid not petroleum based. Petroleum based oils off gas and break down under vacuum. that's a big no no in the HVAC systems these pumps are designed to work with. HVAC repair guys use these pumps to pull a hard vacuum to remove contaminates like water etc from the system before filling with refrigerents. The oil used will pull water from the atmosphere while not in use. It should be run for a few minutes with it's input valve closed before use. This will cause the oil to boil it's water out as a vacuum is built up in the unit.

I tried to add a comment but I do not see it anyhow I hooked up all of the components properly I had a major problem with the low pressure port hookup it did not want to go finally I really really muscled it and got it in I tried two other of my hookups and they just went like a breeze but for some reason this one was very difficult anyhow I finally got it so proceeded to pull a vacuum and I turn the pump on it didn't even run for less than 5 minutes and it made a weird noise and died I cannot turn it back on it is dead and I'm very pissed off I live in Florida it's very hot my kids are miserable I'm miserable wanted a cool air conditioning vehicle so now I have to send this POS back and order another brand and then do the process again not happy definitely won't buy anything from this POS company again PS I'm glad you got a 50 hours out of yours that is absolutely amazing I would have been happy to get 1520 out of this cheap little POS good luck to you and your pump

I've seen you and a few other youtubers running these things on video with the exhaust port closed. The robinair I'm messing with says to remove the exhaust plug when running. However, there is way too much oil mist coming out of it to run it inside. I wonder if the oil bubbling in the tube is due to running with the exhaust plug closed? If that's not an issue, I might tr;y running it closed.

I got a bad pump hand had a problem with the low Port connection to my vehicle I've done a million connections and never have had a problem I had two other hoses that I connected no problems in my vehicle but this one here was definitely a problem I put a lot of muscle into it finally it snapped into place and then proceeded to pull a vacuum the pump ran for less than 5 minutes made a noise and then died will not turn back on I am very mad and ticked off I will definitely not be buying anything from them in the future very very very very very very pissed cuz I live in Florida I waited for this darn thing to get shipped to my house couldn't wait to pull a vacuum clear the system and charge up my Grand caravan and keep my kids and I cool but now I have to send this POS back and order another one wait for it to get here then do the job that the first pump should have done very very dissatisfied with this POS I am glad though that you got good use out of it 5060 hours wow that is phenomenal I would be happy to get 1520 hours out of this POS

I know the vacuum pumps at my job bubble up like that when they are sucking in air like if your bag has a leak. Granted ours are huge but yeah

Is this pump same as the airconditioner pump? Thanks
@suki44104 ай бұрын
No, because the airconditioner probably will have a scroll compressor. This pump has a rotating piston.
