Great builds. Your brush painting skills are excellent. Both the silver and the camo ones came out pretty nice. Salvaging the DD (decal disaster ) 😅 was a good idea indeed. Cheers. Keep modelling

Thank you. I am practically allergic to masking so I find airbrushing more stress than it is worth sometimes

I had a similar issue years ago, joining the cockpit section of the Revell 1/48th Ju88A to the main fuselage. It was solved by adding the two forward sections to the main part on each half of the fuselage, not making up the two units and trying to get them to fit. Had to take it apart to do that. Very pee-boiling. Same issue with the separate wingtips, but this time I was prepared! Good vid by the way.

Thank you for the build and commentary, I take it you need to be a few wires loose to make KP kits. Or is that after the build
@VFCproductions2 жыл бұрын
KP kits usually make into decent looking models, but they take more time and skill to get good results. Whilst frustrating at times, I did enjoy the Tempests and look forward to the pile of KP kits in my stash.

I built the KP Tempest VI and didn't particularly enjoy the experience. The cowling parts didn't fit on that either. As well, i think the undercarriage sits far too high. In the end I ended up with a model I like, but it was a struggle. I haven't tried Airfix yet, but I will soon.

Eduard do a amazing 1.48 tempest at moment called "the ultimate tempest " it comes with a free book . If you love your tempest I recommend you get that kit . Great and informative video though 👍

I'm building a series of Supermarine & Hawker WW2 aircraft to show the evolution from the early 1930s to the 1970s and in order to get hold of certain marks of Spitfires, Hurricanes etc, I had to buy quite a few kits moulded by Czech manufacturers: KP, Sword, AZ, Xtrakit for Hannant's and so on. I fully agree with your comments about the fit and vague instructions. There's also the issue of not having any part numbers on the sprues, which means you're constantly referring to the sprue layouts in the instructions. I'm currently building a Supermarine Scimitar and it's driving me mad! there are so many problems with it I would have binned it if it wasn't the last aircraft that Supermarine produced. There are several Airfix kits in the series I'm building and they are so much nicer to build! Once I've completed this project I shall avoid Czech kits like the plague- they're just too much hassle.

Sounds like a great little project! I don't mind this sort of kit and have some very decent AZ and KP kits - these Tempest certainly being amongst them, but they are far from simple weekend builds as they all require a bit of interpretation of instructions and plenty of thought in assembly.

@@VFCproductions Thanks! It's taken nearly a year so far and I have another seven kits to build to complete it.

Great video, but....Heads-up display? Really? Too many modellers make this error. A Jaguar, Harrier, even the TSR2 and of course the F-14, F15 etc all had Heads Up Displays. Aircraft from the 1940s had reflector gunsights, not HUDs.

Clearly having fun - and some exasperation. You can buy waterslide transfer paper for laser printers - this makes bodging decals much more of an adventure.... Enjoy
