Saw The Rose live in 2023…their concert was fantastic. They are fabulous live. Their discography is all over the place, and it makes for a great set. Woosung, the main vocalist, in the center is known for his vocal abilities. You’ll hear people describe it as singing in cursive.

First of all, thank you for reacting to The Rose 🥰 In my opinion, the choice of songs was wrong! I would have recommended that you listen to "Sour," "Alive," and "Definition of Ugly Is" for the vocals and instrumentals, especially the live VEVO MV. "She's In The Rain" is great for the acoustic guitar. I agree with everything you said about "Back To Me" that live performance was 🔥Their last two full albums show so much diversity, where they experiment with new sounds and mixes. They actually chose the fandom name before their band name. They chose "Blackrose" because, in South-Korea, you call someone a "Blackrose" when you go out and can’t drink alcohol. That person would drink for you to protect you, and the color symbolizes eternal love. That’s what they want their fans to be, they want to protect us, and they want us to protect them, along with the same kind of love. Their own rose color came later as a joke, but fans made it official😝 I hope you'll listen more to them 🙏🤩🌹

You should listen to "Strangers" from The Rose. It probably has the darkest tone of all their songs. It was in the soundtrack for the psychological horror kdrama "Strangers from Hell".

Been listening to The Rose for years now, and love their music so much. Thanks for highlighting them. Can confirm that Back to Me is an epic experience live. Everyone in the merch line was singing it together after the concert because we couldn't get enough. They are amazing performers, and work to improve their craft every year. P.S. Check out Woosung's new solo album. Also, I've seen recommendations for Xdinary Heroes and think that would be a good group for you guys to hear.

Should've done Alive. That freaking song was a paid ad on my KZbin last summer, and I stopped everything I was doing & immediately looked into The Rose & haven't looked back. And yeah they were fantastic live - Back To Me is a good song, but the live performance is just - wow - This band is one to watch, can't wait to see what the future holds. And yes, I'm going to go see Woosung live next month on his mini solo tour - new album 4444 just dropped last night & that is a wonder to behold as well

Woosung (lead singer) of this band was a feature on a song from BTS member SUGA's solo album (released under the "Agust D" moniker that he has used for his solo projects). The song is called "Snooze" and it is incredible. I already knew of The Rose before that was released, so I was totally thrilled they did a song together, and I was surprised to know that they knew each other and were friends. Missing from this reaction were both "You're Beautiful" and "Wonder" (one of my favorites off their last album), and also "Alive". Also, The Rose have a very interesting back story - very unlike a lot of groups in Korea. They weren't created by an agency (a couple were in agencies, others weren't, and they met while busking, brought Woosung in, competed in a singing competition on TV - probably not exactly the order that it happeend, but it did all happen), but they were signed by an agency that they eventually sued to free themselves from - and won. They are now an indie band, so yes they do their own music. I think they have a lot of potential as they grow apart from the agency that hemmed them in.

Mostly their old stuff under their old label here. (But not She’s in the Rain, their most popular song from that era) the only newer song from when they started their new label is Back to Me, off their Dual album like, a year and a half ago. Nothing at all from their Heal album (my favorite album) . Most of their music since they went independent is in English. Also, Woosung has two (or three?) solo albums and just released a single for another solo album (song is called Day that I Died). And yes, the Rose writes ALL of their own music and lyrics.

The Rose does their own music and they sound better Live. I've seen them in concert. They are not really showy. Their music is about the message in their music and a lot of their fans responds to how their music personally resonates to what they're going through in their lives. If you want an electric guitar riff, you can listen to "Definition of Ugly". My personal favorite is "Sour" because of the lyrics and the addition of the synth in the song.

Holey cow it was funny hearing you describe the modern art gallery. My Dad is a watercolour artist who does portraits and landscapes. In his youth he attempted to do art at university, but dropped out because they were given an assignment where they had to photographs different things, and then have the photos developed, and then they presented their photos to the class. Now, doesn't sound so bad, except they were just given random cheap cameras and not told how they worked. So most of the photographs were either just white blurs from overexposure from not knowing how to work with light, or just pure black because they hadn't taken the cap off the lens. But they still had to get up in front of the class and come up with arty explanations for every photograph. And everyone got up and spoke about how they captured meaning in those fuzzy white photos, and pitch black photos, and he just went "I can't do this" and quit. Ended up working in a hospital doing medical illustration, graphic design and photography, which is now medical multimedia. Art otherwise is his hobby that earns him a few thousand dollars here and there.

Thanks for reacting! I found you guys when you reacted to Stray Kids (my ult group) and was curious if you'd react to The Rose too... Yes! Thanks again! Sorry is their debut... Back to me is one of their latest.... Alive is a 'sequel' of Back to me on that same album M/V-wise... You'll be surprised. Their album HEAL is based off of Black Rose's stories and has a song from and for Jaehyung when he struggled. It's an album for, yes, healing. ILYSB, cover from LANY is THE BEST! This cover is better than the original, imo. Woosung (singer, (elec) guitarist) has a few solo albums and one coming up in October called 4444, on which is THE DAY THAT I DIED (already out). Dojoon has a solo youtube channel (Park Dojoon) where he has a few video's of him singing covers live (Dotunes). Just beautiful vocals. Their songs don't only have music, they have meaning... and for their fans that's more important sometimes ... at least for me it is. I went to their concert earlier this year and I hit every emotion on the scale... cried, gasped, sang along, rocked out and had a blast with them. Sorry for the long comment... Woosung has an amazing voice. One of the best in Kpop history. Combine his voice with his band and you've got the perfect blend of voices and artistic talents. One of my favorite group and solo vocalist. Some of the more popular groups sound very cookie-cutter, they all have 8-10 band members and only a few front singers get vocal recognition, the rest are just back-up dancers.

So the album dual is actually really good for me anyways. The song sorry is from my understanding the debut song by them. I don’t remember if they had a song before sorry or not. So I believe sorry is the debut. Woosung has his own solo stuff and it’s different from the band. Woosung is an amazing vocalist. Not having Alive in here just to show how insanely unpredictable The Rose music can be is kinda sad. I get that you're only allowed so many submission songs tho. Definitely think they have more variety than what was shown here... since most of this is when they were under the Korean label and weren't allowed as much freedom to explore variety as they are now that they are independent.
