I love how everyone always tries to define jungkooks sound to one thing or another and the number of comparisons are off the charts bc jungkook loves music… he’s a sponge…. But he’s a vocal chameleon… he can do things with his voice live that nobody else can do bc it’s his versatility and diversity that is his style. So many artists you can peg down to one style or one sound for how they sing and their range… but anybody that knows anything about singing especially live singing can tell you jungkooks vocal agility on this song is wildly difficult… it is not easy to hit these range of notes shifting through different parts of his voice effortlessly… but he makes it look and sound so perfect that it seems simple… when in reality… it’s superhuman. Of course there’s tons of mj connection here with the style of song but it’s got a modern pop twist that is all jungkook … ppl have been sleeping on jungkook as a dancer since they debuted… but that’s not possible anymore with this…. He gave you everything here and it’s impossible to deny. Ppl need to grasp that jungkook sounding like different artists os his sound… bc he wants to do it all… and he’s the one pop vocalist that truly can… so it all.

I just listened to his album last night and I agree - he gave us a range of different styles with this solo project. He absolutely is a chameleon though. That's why he's my ult bias! He can do EVERYTHING and he does it so well!!

Ohhhhh, JK is my ult kpop bias but please do yourself a favour and check out some of Taemin's solo stuff! Not just dance, but overall artistry is off the charts! That's why I'm excited to see Jung Kook start doing more solo stuff, cuz I think he's going to really push creatively and give us a new level of artistry as he continues that will be amazing to witness!!! 😍 This song might be SOTY for me!

One, JK is being so MJ and he loves it or he wouldn't be so obvious. The man wore an MJ outfit on Falon!!! But, BTS did MJ for a decade now. Janet Jackson said herself MJ would have loved BTS. Two, I think it's age and personality. BTS didn't constain anyone. It gave them power. The rap line was older. They did their mix tapes always showing themselves as individuals. Agust D was Agust D!!! The vocal line was younger and timid. V practically had to be forced to get Layover out. Jimin did Face willingly but it also felt like he did it just to get it done. JK slept for a year before they all probably were on his ass to do an album. (Jin is one of few that didn't do one yet!) So, while JK is SO talented, BTS did not hold him back an ounce, but probably pushed him to get out there solo. 🤷🏼♀️
@KPopwithKhadija Жыл бұрын
Hahaha I dunno if you were agreeing with me or not... but you basically just said everything I said in this reaction 😅 The Michael Jackson influences were very, very deliberate throughout the style of the singing, to the entire choreography, to almost every single outfit he's wearing, to the way he moves and engages with the camera. It's all a fantastic tribute to MJ and he executed it SO WELL. And yes, he had time to grow and develop in BTS especially cuz he was the youngest... so now that he's finally doing a solo project, we're getting to see an even bigger & better version of JK who has learned and been inspired by his hyungs AND taken his own time figuring out himself as a solo artist. It's a very unique circumstance and we're lucky he's had it!

This is the best homage to MJ I have ever seen. He did Mj in his style .The only one's who had any experience performing publiicly , were rm , suga as rappers. jhooe and jimin had done dance competitions. jk, v, and jin had never performed at all. As a matter of fact jin had never sung he was an acting major in college. They all had to learn how to dance and sing .

71 year old BTS Army here. This track is totally late '70s, early 80's Retro disco funk and was announced by BigHit as a subtle homage to MJ. None of JK's solo releases have anything to do with Kpop other than JK is S. Korean. All of JK's solo releases including his just released album "Golden" are all in English. There are no S. Korean songwriters, producers, recording studios or MV shooting directors or locations, etc. He is blowing past Kpop and jumping head first into the American pop market. He is using American Grammy Award winning songwriters, producers, recording in the U.S. and filming at mostly U.S. locations such as Universal Studios in Hollywood. This original MV track, however, is filmed at an abandoned power plant in Budapest, Hungary. The director is a very famous Ukrainian director who has directed for Harry Styles and many others. This Usher remix is filmed in L.A. His self professed dream of being a giant pop star has clearly begun in a big way! BTW, there are now at least 3 live performances. iHeart Radio, Jimmy Fallon Show, The Today Show, and there is a KILLER Official Choreo Version. He recently performed 5 songs at the TSX stage in Times Square, NYC. Only the third artist to ever been invited to perform there besides Post Malone and PDiddy. The Usher Remix Performance Video of this song is ICONIC and a dream come true for JK. I am sure you know that ALL of BTS members are in the military now for 18 months as of Dec.12 including Jung Kook. They all have prepared a lot for us to get us through. "Golden" is over to 2 billion streams now since Nov. 2. FYI, the American team of Grammy winner Andrew Watt and Cirkut wrote and produced this song in Watt's studio in L.A. They also wrote and produced his first mega hit "SEVEN Feat Latto". Thank you for your great reaction! 💜

I really appreciate your response, but I always wonder....he is the main vocalist in the biggest global group in history. He is renowned for his stable vocals whilst dancing like a beast. Do you really think he needed to break away from BTS for recognition? 🤔🤔 I don't think so, it's interesting that Americans are just realising how good he is, just because he is singing in English. Granted, Golden is an exceptional release and I adore the album, but he did it specifically, to break into mainstream US music. Everywhere else, he is recognised as a huge talent, even though they sing in their native Korean. Please dive into their music as listeners of music, not bound by language. The rest of the world has.
@KPopwithKhadija Жыл бұрын
Hahaha whaaaat? Where did I say we're just recognizing Jungkook now that he's singing in English. Obvs you don't know me so you couldn't possibly know this, but JK has been my ULT BIAS for yearsssssss. I didn't say he broke away from BTS to get recognition. The entire world already knows and loves him. I said this opportunity to create music away from BTS is letting him push his creativity and discover who he is as a solo artist... and it's beautiful! We've seen his talent for years, but now we're getting to see who HE is on his own, which wouldn't happen if he was still mad busy doing promotions with the OT7 group. Lol not every comment a reactor makes is disrespect - it's possible to love an idol AND appreciate their growth. 💚

Hahaha I didn't say preparing for this song was the first time he ever saw Michael Jackson. It totally makes sense that he's been influenced by MJ his whole life!! But he definitely did incorporate a lot of very specific moments, shots, styles, movements, etc. in this video! I'm sure his choreographers/movement directors were super intentional about putting these things in cuz they are VERY specific recreations of some MJ videos/choreography
