So something I notice in your gameplay is when the other teams comp isn’t favored for you, you play much more passive, I make too many aggressive plays thinking I got one shot because I’m performing bad in duels, turns out it’s more simple than that, I keep going into risky fights thinking eventually I’ll get good enough to brute force past them.

And look at that, for surviving long enough in the fight, you got an opprotunity to finish off like 3 half health characters. I need to keep things like this in mind while playing, I push too much.

What would you consider to be favorable/unfavorable comps?

@@pancakelover5285 It's pretty simple for Tracer honestly. Favorable comp = you can kill many enemies (aka no ez escape options and no easy way of fighting back) Unfavorable comps = many enemies can kill you or dodge your kill potential on them. Typically, heroes that have one-shot potential like Ashe, Mei, Kiri (not oneshot but anytime you take 10 dmg you're in lethal range of her), Hanzo, etc and Torb due to turret that can deny space from you. These heroes are risky to play aggro against and you have to wait for your team and tank to take attention and follow up on their work, always mind your own angles and dont expose yourself to anyone who wants to fight back. If there are no easy targets for you to apply consistent pressure to, it can be hard too. Lucio / Moira / Kiri / and so on.

@@Vinnare I believe you're right however the good thing about his video is that he's included his gameplay as well! so there are sections of my video where I simply say out loud what he did on screen in comparison with what he is saying his goal is. Although I agree. Awkward's ur2gm, as well as A10'S ur2gm was much more of a lesson than kragie. Kragies video I assure you is still wildly helpful as he includes information that neither of those two have in their videos. So far from what I can tell A10 tells you the basic way to be present and helpful, Awkward teaches you how to be a better DPS, and Kragie is giving you some very detailed game awareness.

Ohhhhhhhh, if there’s a pharmercy, kill the other support and that’ll either force mercy off phara or get their tank killed

@@wish5615 my humble guess is that you can poke and destroy turret while being safe at a distance + torb hitbox is easy to headshot just aim in the middle (problem 1 solved) while also annoying the ana with your sphere, forcing her to leave her position for a few seconds (problem 2 solved). Finally you have one the deadliest ults in the game if your aim is decent, even more if you get pocketed by mercy and or ana. It also bypasses suzu cause it last more than just one second contrary to tracers ult. Hope this helps ! 🤗

@@wish5615 Sojourn has more direct lethal potential than Ashe and also better mobility, so you can have more uptime in general - and she has the range to poke out Torb turret and also deal with him directly. You are the favored matchup vs both enemy dps - not a big favor but still a favor overall. You can pressure out Kiri to spend her resources, and you can't be dove upon easily, as your mobility lets you disengage from any fight whenever you want to. Having the luxury of chosing which fights to take and which ones to disengage from, is very powerful and gives you agency in every teamfight to steer the narrative more than both Ashe and Torb can do. Sojourn does rely on more peak mechanical skill to get the most consistency out of her in comparison, so keep this in mind - you might have an easier time just farming dynamite and torb turret auto aim if the lobby rank isn't that high.

@@aron2051 you have to think of it differently though. If they had a Brig instead then the Tracer could have been packed and been given the chance to take more aggressive angles and the Tracer gets chip healing with Inspire that lets the Ana focus more on the rest of the team. If they had a Mercy then the other DPS could have done more. If they had a Zen then the Tracer has a free kill every fight. If they had a Kiriko then Kitsune is a free fight win every 2 minutes. If they had a Moira then Coal could have been used to save the tank. If they had a Bap then lamp saves people and they have a hitscan to help with the Pharah. Lucio speed enables the entire team and his chip healing would do the same thing that Brig's would do. Plus Beat is insanely good. Weaver wasn't the only problem but if they swapped and were able to play literally any other support in the game at a competent level then they would have won.

Always depends on who youre fighting. Dont take 1v1s against counters and know when to disengage. Your aim might be a limiting factor, actually the one that wins me most Tracer 1v1s. Dont aim for the head, more chest heavy. The VAXTA workshop is good to practice the aim. And when it comes to utility just play and experiment. Dont panix and waste all at once but dont hold it for too long. Comes with experience

Diamond 3 Tracer here. One useful mantra that personally carries my motivation to improve and succeed at 1v1s is the general philosophy that Tracer is the #1 duel hero in the game Obviously this philosophy is subjective and could be argued. Not to mention OW is a game where there are a ton of outside factors that can influence the nature of any given duel (environment, resources, map objective, nature of the team fight, etc.) Factors like these influence EVERYTHING for a duel. For example - Tracer may counter Widow in an environment where there are walls, corridors, and easy access to high ground. But if the map was a flat open space with a ton of distance, Widow would counter Tracer in that situation. That’s how I think of duels With that in mind, you have to optimize Tracer’s strengths and minimize her weaknesses in any given situation based on these factors. Dueling different heroes require different win conditions too - do you have to really rely on health packs to win X duel? Do you have to apply specific blink patterns that have proven to be typically effective against Y hero? Is Pulse Bomb an absolute win condition in Z matchup? Etc. etc. Play dueling arenas with a friend of your skill level or above can help a lot with this. Practice your tracking and bullet management in practice arenas. A LOT. Practice in arenas with infinite blinks/pulse bombs to better master your blink management and ult accuracy With all these elements combined, you’re sure to see success in winning not only duels more often, but even 2v1s or 3v1s. It’s truly a magical feeling to cook your enemies alive as Tracer, but the work has to put in to acquire that.

​@@Chiplinked also people must have in mind that Tracer is a very opportunistic character that is all about draining resources from the enemy team. You're not to take fair fights and gotta remember that sometimes retreating from a duel is as important as winning it. Every game you might have 4 losers on your team and you have to make them look smart by timing your engages and acting like their dad by making the game easier as a 5v4 or 5v3 every fight due to you basically stealing the show on their backline AT THE RIGHT TIME. That being said, wish everyone a GG: we're all trash over here.

My friend, if you think kragie needs play tracer more like awkward to be better you are sadly mistaken. Damage is always important, yes, but it means nothing without target selection. If you look at when he tabs he is carrying in terms of damage in the whole lobby
