Honestly I feel like if you are not restricted by finances, private university is your best bet. We basically have the same lecturers (just that the lecturers are compelled to do better in private universities due to the more effective system) and in some cases private universities get better lecturers . The security level is quite high in private uni, you don't have to worry about losing your life to cultists. Accessibility to lecturers , your lecturers actually care about you passing and are not all out to fail you. The networking in private universities is actually very good, you get to roll with people that on regular basis you might never get to meet (I mean quite influencial people) . In regards to the stereotype that most private universities students are those who didn't pass jamb That is not true, I know a lot of people who have very high scores in jamb but still decides to go to a private uni. A friend of mine already knew the school she would be going as at when she was in SSS 2, she didn't even try public universities. If you don't have the opportunity to go to a private uni it's okay, just work hard to afford it for your children or hope for a Nigeria that works.

I believe whether one goes to private or public school, your personality and your effort still goes a long way in determining how one will turn out. I've come across people that graduated from Public School that are calm and turned out well, and I've across people from private school that well they are razz. I've come across people that went to private and they are very industrious cause the had side hustle while in school, so that one went to private school doesn't mean they don't do other stuff at least I know first hand people that did. They both have their pros and cons. If you know what you want for yourself, who you are and where you're going, weigh your pros and cons and pick what you feel is best for you. There's more to a person than the school they graduated from. Oh and that notion that it's people that didn't do well in jamb that go to private school should be changed. I had classmates that had really high scores in short some had admission in public uni, but still chose private uni. Jamb score is not the end of everything. At the end it's a matter of choice, and I believe everyone is entitled to choose what's best for them so don't judge people based on that.
