I've seen that Big Salad episode several times and I gotta say, I agree with George. That lady took credit for something she did not do. He deserved that, "thank you."
@Xylarxcode2 ай бұрын
He would have, if it weren't for the fact that earlier in the episode, George made it a specific point to her that 'it doesn't matter who pays for lunch', when he picked up the tab. If it doesn't matter who pays for lunch, then it also doesn't matter who takes credit for it. By saying that, he forfeited his right to claim credit for the big salad, because by his own words: 'it doesn't matter'. But he had to have it both. He wanted to seem like a generous suitor to his girlfriend and as the one responsible for buying her lunch, thus being the rightful recipient of Elaine's gratitude, in which case it DOES matter that he paid for lunch. Either it matters who pays for lunch and thus George is a liar or it doesn't matter who pays for lunch and he's a petty fuck. And as we all know, George is both of those things.

@@Xylarxcode well said. And also, george's character is shallow and has lots of issues. He just cant deal with these kinds of things
@TheSaegheАй бұрын
@@Xylarxcode Your logic is flawed because even if George did do that, because Elaine asked him originally, she should expect him to be the one buying the salad. Therefore when she tells that to george's date, it shouldn't be surprising that she assumes that George would be the one that paid for the salad even if someone else hands it to her. Why would she assume that george's date paid for Elaine's salad? It's kind of presumptuous and rude of george's date to say that to george also.

It was before widespread use of cell phones (barely) but certainty not before cell phones exisisted. My dad had a Motorola brick phone in the mid to late 80s. This episode was from 1994. By then nextel and voicestream (became tmoble) were gaining subs and growing and when I got my cell phone at a kiosk in the mall. 1994.
