Kramer Imperial Review And Demo - This Kramer Explorer Shaped Guitar Is Wicked!

In this video, I demo the Kramer Imperial guitar. This beast is a bad ass guitar with iconic shape of a Gibson Explorer. It has some really nice features such as 24 frets and a push pull pot for tap coil options. The guitar weighs 8 lbs and 14 ounces and its fairly heavy, but for an explorer shape guitar this is not too bad. The body is made of alder and it has a maple neck and rosewood fretboard. Music Yo era Kramer. Cool guitar. They made an LP in that era as well. A standard and a deluxe. Hard to find. The quad rails are stock in a bunch of those Music Yo Kramers. Usually the first thing to end up in the trash. Lol.

I had one of those about 20 years ago in black with a floyd. I still have a neck through "Baretta" with the quadrail pickups and a floyd I bought in the early 2000's when Kramer was owned by Musicyo.

Probably original pickups, A lot of Kramers came with quad rails on that era.

I've had two of those. One with a Floyd, and one hardtail. Gave the hardtail one to my daughter and I still have the Floyd. Fun guitars, and yeah those are the stock pickups.

I have that exact one , with gibson 490/498 set. love the color . Wish it was 24.75 scale ? Yes the quadrails are original . I also have a silver one with a Floyd Rose 🤓

They are from about 2010 ish. I got one when it came out. 25.5 inch scale is pretty cool makes it a different instrument from your regular old Explorer. The quads really push the amp hard. Great for Dokken riffs.

Ah yes, the Music Yo era Kramers. I had a 98 neck through “Baretta” that looked nothing like a Baretta but it was a pretty nice axe. Headstocks kill me though, not the right shape at all.

I like that axe! I'm a bit of a Kramer guy so I'm biased lol. That guitar would be killer with a reverse headstock and gold hardware. I just did an old Peavey EXP that same color, replaced all the shitty black hardware with Schaller gold tremolo and gold Schaller locking tuners with Seymour Duncan blackouts and some blue Titanium hardware from Fu-tone and brass big block. One of my favorite guitars to play. That Kramer would be a nice match for my collection lol

@Ranch5150SkinWalker it's from a small factory in Slovakia, the guitar make is Dowina. Swiss spruce top, solid American walnut back and sides with maple binding. And it sounds beautiful all for a fraction of the price for an American hand made guitar.

Never liked Kramer's headstock, but because of this guitar body shape, the overall look seems good. I think that guitars review and also FB marketplace items comments meke great your channel. What about the guitar... in your hands sounds good a broom too, so... i trust in your impressions. As (little and humble) suggestion for the other videos of the series "How to play..." it will be nice if before start playing you would display (on paper, as for the tabs) a simple effect chain indication. But the channel is already good in this way. Thanks Marty!
